Well, Zosia has been to the vet.

I left her thinking she was a girl....aaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnddddd

she's a boy. Yes, Zosia is actually a boy. Her one of her testicles did not descend. So when the pet shop sexed her, they did so wrong.

I am completely ok with having HIM! Don't get me wrong, I spend a paycheck on these two little guys (literally). But i was caught a little off guard when the cost was doubled!!!

The vet prepared and ame an insision for a spay. And that's when TA-DA!

But that insision, as he went on, would have been necessary anyway to de-lodge the "coconut" as he referred to it.

Again, I am completely fine with having two little guys. I am however a bit disappointed that they probably won't bond. Two boys from diffeent litters...??

I haven't decided if I will shorten ZOSIA (zusha) to ZUSH, which sounds a little boyish, or something like, ZEUS. Which is pretty funny, b/c HE is so tiny!

haha, silly pet stores...

and don't give up on bonding! plenty of boys here are bonded!

I personally like the name Zeus :)

And Zeus it is. He has calmed down a lot. HE no longer runs around my feet hoping to find a mate!

However, he is a little more resistant to be picked up and held though :(

But he is a happy buuny, especially because he got a NEW phonebook for Christmas!

Bot, did he tear into that!

Bob got one too. But he'd rather hop around and explore. He's the mellow fellow.

As I mentioned in another thread, I am having a hard time bonding. I feel so bad for Bob. He just can't win. And Zeus is such a go-getter..Bob can't move an inch without Zeuser running on to mount him....:grumpy:

I know Zeuser is doing what he is supposed to, but I can't help but feel for Bob.

It's as if he is saying, Please leave me alone. I don't really want a pal..

Happy Easter Bob and Zeus!

Hi everybody! I know it's been awhile..but I have been without a computer for awhile, then had dialup which is sooo slow...

So here we are!

So here is a short story to make up for lost time...

Zeus was neutered in December. Imagine my suprise when the vet called and said IT'S A BOY!

I waited awhile before trying to bond...but Z was quite agressive...and I was ultra-sensitive about Bob, since he's been abused before....

But Z has since settled down a bit. But that little stinker did get out of his room and ventured into Bob's room. I wasn't home at the time, but from what I could tell, (by Zeus's hair being ALL OVER the living room, Bob did a GOOD job defedning his turf!

I hear that it takes about a year for the hormones to settle after a neuter, si probably around Thanksgiving, I will try the bonding again...

Sorry, I missed the updates:?. Yeah, petstores are notorious for not sexing buns correctly, unfortunately. You should still be able to bond them, might just take longer. Good Luck with that too:).

 Where'd you hear that? Haha, no, it only takes about 2-3 months;). So, you can start bonding anytime now:D.

Well, apparently, Zeus was cryptorchid...so even an experienced person may have had trouble sexing him.

ANyway, I will try and bond them. Which leads to a question...few weeks ago, Zeus escaped into Bob's room. I don't know for how long, but when I got home, the living room was full of Zeus hair! I guess Bob put up a good fight...which shocked me!

Zeus stillchews on the gateto go in there sometimes..soI was wondering if I should just plop him in there and let them duke it out, or go about it the 'right' way by using neutral territory.

I have to admit, b/c of Bob's abused past, I am partial to him being the donimate one....

I appreciate any suggestions or thoughts....

I would go about bonding in neutral territory for sure. You definitely don't want them to have a fight. Bunnies remember that, so it can make it more difficult to bond when they have fought. That's why they also say to try to always end each bonding session on a positive note;). Feel free to start a new thread on it in the regular forum so we call all see how it is going:).

Thanks for the advice....

since they have battled it out (but I don't know how bad) I hope it works out OK.

I'm thinking I won't until July though, b/c then I will be home for the month and not teaching. THat way, it will be more consistant.

Thanks again

Marybeth

Well, Bob and Zeus are doing well. I just changed their rooms around and cleaned from top to bottom. It's funny to see how they have to make the adjustment...

Now all of a sudden they have diferrent hidey places...

In a few weeks, school will be out and I can work on bonding them.

I want them to be pals so bad....

But I fear that Bob will end up being unhappy...he seems do content now.

Zeus on the other hand, seems bored.

Bob is getting a bit more comfortable with touch. He'll let me pet him, even for just 10 seconds!!!! on his head.... WHen I take him to the groomer to get the nails cut, I hold him. He kisses me after he's done...Almost to say, thank goodness, it's over!!

Zeus however, a love bug!!!!!!!!!!! I was sitting in his room (yes, he has his own room!!!) on the floor reading. and he just sat there and let me pet him. Then he'd kiss me. then i pet some more, then he'd kiss me.

I don't know what I do without these guys....:p

wooooowwwwww!
It's been a long time! I've done a lot of moving around....but the good thing about that is....

BOB and ZEUS ARE BONDED! finally!!! Nw I feel bad for waiting so long! They are BEST PALS! They play and run and jump...and where there is one, there is the other!

I can't believe Bob's gotcha day is this week! He's four years old!!!! I have to try and upload some pics!

Bunnies are the BEST 'kids'!!!!!:inlove:

LOL!

All I see them saying when I look at the picture is "What are you looking at?"

Adorable!
