I use banana baby food a lot when I get a rabbit like this - and I'll even mix the simethicone if I need to (most of them love my simethicone but it isn't mint...I forget what mine is...cherry maybe?).

Definitely give her the simethicone every hour for the first 3 hours if I remember right...

This can be very scary...I'm so glad you're catching it early.

Oh i'm sorry you went through such a traumatic time with Wiggles,it's just awful when something goes wrong with our babies.

I hope she's feeling better :)

Any many hugs to you, because i know how stressful things can be

I get the baby simethicone in the Walmart baby isle and it's pink and they love it! I use baby food too but I use just a bit. That's how I got Clover to eat when she was a baby.

How's she doing?

It does sound like gas, especially with throwing herself down, pressing her belly to the floor, sitting uncomfortably, etc.

She seems better though she is very quiet. She jumped off the couch and went to eat some pellets. So I think she is doing well. Thanks everyone :inlove:

I'm glad she is doing better. When Roxie had gas, the vibrating toothbrush worked wonderful. I would keep giving her tummy massages frequently until she is fully better.

 You have been through so much lately Wiggles.

She's still very quiet. I'm keeping an eye on her. No signs of pain or anything. I'm a bit worried... Bam-Bam insists on staying beside her. I opened the cage but neither came out. I have to call my vet for the mouse tomorrow so I will ask about her too. She's eating but not as much. I am continuing massages and all but she doesn't seem to have gas. She just seems really tired. :?

*Comes back looking disheveled... Clothes torn, scratches bleeding all over, bleeding finger...* Yeah... Simethicone huh? Could they not have made it cherry flavored or something?! MINT! She haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaates mint. :grumpy:I hold to roll her on her side and hold her down to get it in. She let half of it just dribble out though. Now she absolutely hates me. She has spent the last 10 mins angrily
bo HATES mint also. Isn't that odd? some love it and some HATE that stuff!

How's Wiggles doing?

Yeah it is odd. She hates it with a passion!

She seems ok... Still a tad more quiet. It bothers me a bit. I think she's still recovering from the surgery and might be a tad more sensitive still. Is there anything in particular which is full of vitamins and nutritious value that I could give her? Kinda like a lil boster... ?

Thanks for asking:)

NutriCal is popular - is that available? We get it at the petstore.

Bo is doing better too. I got him some simethicone today and let's just say that he's not happy with its flavor either..... Smells sorta like vanilla. :vomit:<~~Bo

He's getting a bit more active and I think that's from tummy rubs and good hay and lots of excercise today.

I'm glad Wiggles is getting better. I hope you find something to boost her system. I wish I could give you some of this fresh grass hay. My bunnies are going CRAZY over it.

I'm so glad Bo is doing better as well! Doesn't it suck to watch them go through those kinda things? I'm doing ok on hay actually. When I adopted Bam-Bam, the woman brought me a huge garbage bag full fresh from the farm. It's been great. I used up my other bags that I had and giving them this. It's definitely different and the buns love it.

I agree about the simethicone flavors. I wonder how parents would react giving their babies cranberry flavoured meds though. Lol. :pSure as heck wonder why they bothered with the mint one! :?

I have yet to make my bunnies taste craisins. :p

Make them?! Oh believe me, they would love them! Bo and Clover and Heidi and the dog all know the sound of that little plastic bag. :p

Yes, it worries me sick when they are ill.

Glad you have good hay. This hay I'm using was cut and dried about 2 weeks ago. When they baled it, I brought some down for the bunnies (normally we have alfalfa hay and I can't use that with Bo and the dusty old barn hay makes him sneeze also) and they were BONKERS! I need to get a flake or five to have here during the winter so it doesn't get dusty in the barn now. What is nice is that it's like individual strips of nice grass. Not the best for horses but great for little furballs! :D
