Shadow has been home almost 48 hours since her spay. She's very active, and tries to escape every time I open her cage. I'm a little concerned that she hasn't eaten any pellets yet. Since she got home she has eaten lots of parsley, some baby carrots, timothy hay (loose hay,and 2 big timothy hay cubes), and she's drinking just a little bit. She's pooped some, and peed a lot. She takes her metacam voluntarily, but she really doesn't seem to be in pain at all. In fact, she is pretty much back to her normal behavior, except for eating. Should I keep giving her the metacam daily (I have 5 days worth) or stop giving it to her after the 2 doses I've already given her yesterday & today? Should I be concerned that she isn't eating her pellets yet, even though she's eating everything else?

I wouldn't worry about the pellets....as long as she is eating greens and hay. I don't care if my rabbits eat pellets (they get only a very small amount) as long as they eat hay. Metacam should normally be dosed no more than 3 days. I personally like more aggressive drugs after a spay....buprenorphine (which has been a challenge to find recently) or Tramadol. If you need to dose Metacam for more than 3 days, I would suggest supplemental hydration to help support and protect the liver.

She still hasn't touched her pellets, but she's really been chowing down on the hay and veggies. She's drinking more water now, too. I even got a couple little bunny kisses on my fingers :) Her incision looks great, and I let her out in a small area just to stretch her legs - not enough room to run & jump, though. I feel terrible keeping her cooped up in the cage 24/7. The vet recommended keeping her in the cage for 10-14 days. Does that seem excessive to anyone else? I plan on letting her out once in a while in a limited space so she doesn't go stir crazy.

I wouldn't worry too much about pellets, yet. It sounds like she's eating enough other things to be okay for now.
It's good that's she's drinking more water now, too!!

Does she have stitches?
If so, I'd keep her activity to a minimum until the stitches have been removed/dissolved, and the incision has healed closed.
My buns were pretty much caged for at least a week. Usually stitches and incisions were good after 10 days or so.

She has dissolvable stitched inside, but that glue-like bonding stuff outside. I'm not giving her enough room to run, or anything to climb on. She's happy just to be out of the cage for a bit.

Jessi vet told me 7 days then she can return to normal activity.

She has glue also and one outer stitch but it disable to.

I'm so excited!! Shadow finished off her whole bowl of pellets last night! She doesn't get unlimited pellets, it was just over 1/4 cup.
