One of my does, Blackie has ear mites. She usually sits with her left side to me but a few days ago she sat with her right side to me and I saw she had a sore looking ear. I didn't want to bring her out as she was due to have kits.I brought her in the house tonight to get a good look at her ear and everything I've read and all the pics tell me ear mites. She was a very good girl and let me clean her ear with some warm water and then I massaged some oil in the ear. Is there anything esle I could do for her. She does not like to be handled and I thought for sure she would fight me but she didn't. She is such a good girl and really enjoyed her treats.
Sadly she had 4 very large kits last nightwhich were all deceased. She always has her babies on day 31. Could she have been late because of the ear mites and could the mites be why the kits were all dead?? The other ear looks good and none of the other rabbits have any symptoms.
Where do the mites come from? No animals have been near the buns but I did just get a enw bale of hay, do they live in the hay???
Thanks for all replies....
