Oh yes! I was going to suggest a kitty. Johncdn (I think) posted this linkfor Montreal adoptions and I look at it often. Makes me want to drive from the US to adopt more cats. There are some beautiful kitties here (especially the all white and calico). Also, they appear to have an abundance of kittens.

i too agree with the whole no petstore puppies, puppymill dogs too, but i will not go into anything about it, i just wanted to add that if and when you get a dog remember about grooming. I groomed, and still groom my dog (because she takes seizures when stressed and the last two times i took her somewhere to be done she took a seizure :shock, a Bichon and a shih tzu are two dogs that need to be groomed regularly, every 4-6 weeks.

Hypoallergenic doesn't guarantee no shedding. Everyone else has made great points in this post, just one other caution from me:



When buying from someone, a mixed breed suchh as you want, the is absolutely NO guarantee the puppy is what mix they say it is. There is no standard on the look, size or anything, so you could be paying for who-knows-what.
