Do bunnies ever need dewormed ? I'm assuming they can pick up parasites just like anything else can.

What do you use to deworm them, how often, how much, etc. ?

I don't know if breeders deworm their rabbits as a matter of routine but pet owners generally don't unless there is an indication that the rabbit has them.

Iwill make a post in therabbitry section asking about this

generally when you go to a good rabbit vet they will test for worms in a fecal sample. In some cases, worms do not show up,. my bun Rudy, who was a stray passed a segment of a tapeworm after his neuter . it was not detected in the fecal sample. he was treated with Droncit x2.
i asked about this in the rabbitry section so you can check my post there if you want.

:yeahthat: Good catch, Maureen!:goodjob

Will you have these tests done?

Same thing happened to me. Alaska had a tapeworm and she had 2 fecal tests done since I had her. One on her "well-bunny" check-up when I first got her and another done before her spay. When she passed a segment I took her back to the vets where they did another "float" that detected the tapeworm. From what my vet said, you have to have a particular type of float done to indicate a tapeworm. She was treated with Droncit as well. If you are concerned, ask the vet to perform both tests.
