I don't think that the blue in her eye is a third eye lid. The third eye lids are located in the corner towards the nose. Pristine's eyes are clear and that's what makes me think that something is wrong with Iszy's. I'm going to call the vet again today.

Thanks everyone for all your help.

The blue haze is often a cataract indication. You are probably right about the eyesight. Hey, relaxed is good! And also good that she can hear.:)

Lissa,

have you found anything out about iszy yet?im hoping all is well with her.

my little girl lulu was diagnosed being blind about 7 months ago,i had noticed her bumping into things, like walls and even when i called her she would just run in circles cause she could not see me,i had taken her to the vet,and dr Tucker diagnosed my suspicions,i felt my little heart cry for her i was very saddened by the news.

but she has adapted very well, you wouldnt really know she was blind if you didnt look into her eyes.

and the not hearing thing, maybe she is just being a stubborn girl.

i know some of mine tend to choose to ignore me occassionally, most times they will come when they are called, and sometimes they dont i think they just make out they cannot hear me,especially when they are outside and it is time to come in,jack will usually just sit there at the end of the yard with his back facing me,grrrr...i call him and call him but nope he wont listen until i walk up to him and hes like "ohh..you called me"sometimes they can be stubborn little buggers lol.

you could just takeiszy to see her vet for a checkup,at least then you would know if there is anything wrong with her or not.

take care lissa, and i hope everything is well with iszy.

i thought i would just show you a picture of my blind baby girl lulu, you can see how white her eyes are..

cheryl...

Thanks Rose and Cheryl. I don't think it's a cataract because I've seen a cataract before. The blue is not on the pupil or the iris. It is in the white area of the eye, the furthest towards the ears. In any case, I think Iszy is due to see the vet again. Maybe he can do some eye tests on her.

I know Iszy isn't a hotot, but lookie what I found on one of the breeders sites.....

You will also run in to Dwarf Hotots with random black spots on their bodies (usually around the ears), or Dwarf Hotots missing one or both eye-bands, or with broken eye-bands. Blue spots, in the eyes, are also very common.

Hopefully the blue spots in her eyes have something to do with genetics and it's not something to worry about. You've been through enough recently.

Jim, they may be talking about broken-colored eyes. Dwarf hotots are supposed to have blue eyes, but some have mixed blue and brown- both of mine are like that.

Lissa, her eyes aren't bulging more than normal, are they?

I don't think they're bulging. I'll have to check again. I don't think they are though.

Not yet. Things have stayed the same. I haven't really had time or the moneyto take her to the vet yet. I don't see a huge emergency, as she is doing really well. Pristine gets spayed in a few weeks. I'll probably get Iszy checked out after that. :)

Now I'm really worried. Over the weekend I moved her litterbox to a different corner of the room. She has been peeing all over the room now. :(

Yikes!!:?

I'd put the litter pan back in it's original place. Maybe put a extra one out where you want it to be until she gets used to it being there.

MooShu had an ever loving fit the other day when I moved her pan. Thumping, tossing stuff around, poopin&peein wherever. I put her pan back and she finally calmed down after about an hour.
Jimney Krickets!!!!..... buns can be sensitive!!

Thanks Jim! Maybe she's just protesting the move of her litterbox? I'll put it back and see what happens. I hope she's okay.
