I know Freddy is a mutt and I will prolly never100% what kind of mix he is...but that doesnt mean im not going to tryto find out lol

My first approach was to go by his coloring .. but several breeds carrythe similar markings to his...polish, ND, lops..etc ... oh and hismarkings are completely symmetrical, except for his nose..(wierd isntit?)

the next thing i observed was the way he carries himself. hes notblocky like lops, polishes and ND...he has an arch when he sits, similar to an english spot

and his body shape is almost identical to this rabbit, especially hishead...and not to mention the big ears...this guy has quite a set asdoes freddy.

next thing was his coat. It is very soft, like down and sticks up whenyou rub it.. no fly back coat here... due to my lack of interactionwith different breeds i dont know if this is common or not, but thereare two distinct layers of fur. one very short and dense and then aless dense layer of signifigantly longer hairs that make his spots looklike they have ragged edges (except on his face where they are distinctmarkings)

weight..he is about ~5 1/2 months (not too sure on his age either) andis almost 4lbs.. i figured he is pretty much done growing although inthe past month he has gone thru a HUGE growth spurt..

i definately think he has some english spot in him, b/c i cant find anyother breed that has as many matching characteristics...what otherbreeds would have a downy coat like that? and maybe he is part dwarfb/c he is under 4lbs?

Any suggestions would be well appreciated..i would love to know moreabout his background so that i could be more educated aboutany problems that he might have inherited..like how blue rabbits aresensitive to medications...heres so pix of Freddy to help

THANK YOU

Tiffany

If you need pictures of any specific poses or need more to observe just let me know...thanx again! ;)

I agree with the English Spot observation. I wastrying to do the same with Loki. I can assume her and Freddy are thesame mix. They're also about the same age and weight. Same marking, same long ears, same body shape, same cuteness. :D
The only difference I can tell between Loki/Freddy and the Spot is the coat length and the missing markings around the face.
Here's an example of Loki's arched back. She only stayed still 'cause she was mad about the cone..

Has anyone encountered any rabbits like these and were aware of the parentage?

ossably Mini rex englishspot cross would be my bestguess theytype fur yourdiscribing sounds very rexish , Thoi could very well be wrong.

rexes have glossy coats right? ...i dont thinkfreddy's is that glossy but see this is where my inexperience withrabbits comes into play...ive never actually handled a rex breedbefore.. i need to find shows in my area so i can meet all thesedifferent breeds..

I've handled a few rexes. It's a neat idea, butRex fur is a little too short and it looks like Freddy and Loki haslonger fur than the Spot. What a mystery.

I have 2 rexes and the coat does soundrex like. Heres and easy way to find out, dos his fur feel like velvet? If you stroke it backwards does itfeel the same?? here is apic, you can't see their coat too well but i hope it helps.:D

And here's Chippy. Not a very good picture foridentification, though. Her coat is also a lot like Freddy's. Hermarkings are a lot fainter down her back. And her ears are also smallerthan Freddy's. We think she is a Hotot mix.

we may be onto something here... I read ahistory of the Hotot's and they were derived from checkerdgiants....b/c of this even to this day some does will birth "piebald"babies that look like this

images
kindalooks like freddy..no? google doesnt provide much info on these piebaldbabies but im gonna keep looking.. thanx danielle :)

Funny you should ask. I wonder what Devon's dadlooked like, and I often think it may have been an English spot. AndDevon looks an awful lot like Freddy. I already have the other half ofthe puzzle because we adopted Amber, Devon's mom.

Does Devon have Jumbo sized ears?.....maybe he got his big ears from having a lil lop in him...
