Forgot to say, now you're no longer a slave to Orange, are you allowed to tell me your opinion from a phone persons point of view on other providers and phones? My contract finishes in October and I'm currently choosing a new phone and contract...

Lol.... even when I did work for them I was advising other networks!:p Hence a year ago I abandoned my 'free' staff tariff that charged me no line rental, but cost me 35p a minute to call landlines/other networks, and went with T-Mobile!

T-Mobile seem to be the best value from what I can see- their Flext tariffs are great! I'm on Flext 35, but the lower ones are good too...

3 are really cheap, but the customer service is AWFUL. The number of times I've rung them up and yelled at them on behalf of my friends.... (Taking so many escalations myself means I now know how to handle other companies when I'm complaining lol!)

Steve is with O2, and he's had some problems, but on the whole, they're pretty good apparently...

As far as phones go.... I would always recommend Sony Ericsson. Now I haven't worked on the phones taking calls for 2 years, and I haven't worked full stop for over a year, but when I did, there were endless calls about Nokia and Samsungs going wrong- multiple replacements, etc etc. I worked in the 'technology contact centre' where we dealt with picture messaging, internet and email etc, but I looked after teams that dealt with handset faults etc too, and the ratio of Nokia calls to Sony Ericsoon was just ridiculous. I'd recommend one any day! :)

I currently have the Samsung G600 and I HATE IT. I honestly do not know what I was thinking! I can't wait to upgrade in a few months!:(

That is the phone I'm looking at! Better think again then...

The best deal I've found is for the LG Viewty Red with Vodaphone, but I read some reviews and apparently their signal is awful.

My cousin works for 02, and my Mum worked with them so I'm sure its good. The only thing is I actually don't want him to serve me in the shop because he will want to put me on his third off thing, but when he goes travelling in January it will go back up to the full price, and also everything will be in his name. I will have to find another shop!

My friend is on T-mobile flex thing, I quite like it but I'd prefer to be set on how many minutes and texts I have.

The best deal I can find is actually Orange, and I'm considering sticking seeing as I already have my Magic Numbers set up, and they have that best plan thing which is good for me because I never ever ever use up all my stuff.

Now I have to pick another phone from them though! I don't want a Sony because my cousin told me my memory card won't work in it, although I'm not sure how much a new card will cost or if I will even need it....

I like Nokias. I have the pink swivelly Nokia at the moment (my Mum calls is the Stacey phone because Stacey from Eastenders has it!)

So many decisions!

Thanks for your help!

What size memory card do you have at the moment, and what kind? I think that Sony Ericsson use mini-memory stick duo or something? But normally, you get pretty decent sized cards with the phones....

The things I hate about my phone:

It only dedicates a small amount of the memory to text messages, and you can't change that. So my inbox/sent items are full at 100 messages, and then I have to delete them all...:X Sony Ericsson- never filled up the whole time I had it!

I've had ENDLESS problems with it freezing, turning off, breaking etc- I'm actually on my 3rd replacement now lol

The battery is terrible, lasts for about 3 days? And I don't use it a whole lot either- just the odd phonecall and some texts...

The camera is pants! I have a seperate digital camera so it doesn't matter to me, but for 5MP it's totally rubbish!

The text messaging dictionary only holds like 2 words, and forgets them all the time, so you basically can't add your own words...

When you're using the internet, you can't input any underscore or most other punctuations. So, my friend who has the same phone can't go on Facebook on her phone because her email address has an underscore in it, and she can't type it in! Worst usability EVER!!! :grumpy:

But yeah.... other than that it's not a bad phone! ;)

I've reviewed all the phones and plans I liked, and I've decided to stick with orange and go for the LG Secret... Even though Orange are pretty crap I'm thinking they can't go that wrong seeing as I'm already a customer.

Also, I have a question for you (sorry!) I've been looking at the 'new customers' info, but does that apply to the existing customers? So, I want a £20 contract (its a £25 but its cheaper online) and the phone is free. I'm on a £20 contract, I used to be on a £25 but I got that best plan thing and I went down to £20.... I just hope I can get the same deal as a new customer. The stupid orange system has been 'working' on online upgrades for the last year....
