today I brought him up &he is not being himself

he iss usually hoping around & playing

today he is jusy laying down on the rug or in his litter box

he some times does this after playing for an hour or so but today it is all he is doing & he just doesn't look right it is a mom thing you know

If a rabbit is hot will it do this?

yesterday he had a widl blueberry but so did my kids am I overreacting or should I be worried?

If your gut instinct is that you are worried, maybe its worth a trip to the vets.

Hot bunnies can lie about a lot, and pant. Maybe provide something cold (like a frozen water bottle, or something from the freezer wrapped in a towel or something) so that if she wants to, she can lay by it. Also, making the air move is important to so maybe open some windows, or get a fan going or something.

What about eating and drinking? Are they ok? Is she pooing and weeing?

Ibrought him down stair & put him back in his hutch cause it is cooler in the family room which is in the Basement.

he hoped into his incloser where he layed down again

when I went to put his food bowl in his hutch he started growling at me so I put the dish down & left him alone

he is pooping & peeing as usually

I will be keeping a eye on him all day today

When mine are horny they all get far more hyper and active, so I doubt it's that. I'm hoping someone might come along with some decent advice in a bit to help you out more than I can.

Is it possible he didn't get enough rest last night, i.e. was it really loud? Because mine lay about more if they have had to suffer a louder night (like if it's really windy) than normal. Or maybe the heat is still playing a part. Or has anything changed recently within his little world? Like a new arrival into the house? a rearrangement of housing or something?

Ido not know the sound of teeth grinding

he is making these little guinny pig grunts

Is that growling

I thought it was cute but if it is growling than I guess it is not so cute

I called the vet

they told me to keep an eye on him & if he has not eaten that I would have to bring him in on Wensday to have him looked at

por thing he is still in his inclouser he has not mloved sence I put him back in today

This could sound stupid, but could that be laboured breathing? Or is it a definite vocal noise? Could it be a groan or something? If it's not normal, than it could be related to it, but if he normally makes those noises, then it's probably not.

I am so worried

cocoa has not eaten pooped for about 12 hours now sence 10:30 today might be longer

how long can a bunny go without food?

he is grinding his teeth too

I willbe at the vets first thing tomorrow morning

If he makes it through the night

please pray for cocoa!!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner.

I would start treating for stasis NOW.

If you have syringes, get some water into him. Hydration is the most important thing, but you have to syringe the water slowly so he won't aspirate.

Pedialyte or diluted juice work well too.

If you have any canned pumpkin, give him some. If you have fresh pineapple, see if he'll take it.

Wet down his favorite veggies and see if he'll take any.

You can grind up pellets with a heavy glass, add water and syringe that.

Try to get him in a comfortable position and gently massage his tummy.

If you have infant gas drops (simethicone), give him some.

There's lots of info on stasis in the library section.

I'll be praying for Cocoa and you. Keep us posted.

good moring everyone!

good news to report.

when I left you all last nigh cocoa was not in a good state & neither was I.

to day he is 10000 times better.

his eyes are blace & round where yesterday they were droopy & glassy

he is alert where yesterday he was sluggish & was only laying down.

he chased us If we went near histoys.

there is pee in his potty & a few pices of poop like 3 small pices but it is a start he is jumping & hoping around again & will chase us If we try & get his food

he is also tossing his treat box around it is like he had a 24 hour bug or something

I told hubbie to keep an eye on his poop & If there is no more thaan what was in there this morning to bring him to the vet

I think once he starts to eat he will start to poop

i am so glad cocoa is better I do not know what I would do If we lost him I love this little guy sooooo much

thank you everyone for all your help & support.

Kathy
