:?

I just caught Smores mounting and humping Maybelle (now she's binkying like a fool :expressionless). He's barely 3 months old I believe? I did NOT think it started that young? What does this mean now? Are they just establishing dominancy already? At what age will I have to separate them? She's only 8 weeks old. :expressionlessI'm sorry if it's really ignorant of me, I could have sworn this behavior started later...

What should we do now? (Other than that, they've been playing happily without incident...)

i remember dante mounting when i first got him and we thought we had 2 females. no babies came from it but we separated the 2 rabbits right away.

If they are dwarf rabbits, males can mature sexually as early as 9 weeks.

With the little girl being 8 weeks old, she is too young to get pregnant. But I would separate them when she is about 10 weeks old just to be safe. The smaller the rabbit, the sooner they mature sexually and it is better to separate too early than end up with a surprise litter of babies.

They ended up fighting and injuring each other :(They are now permanently separated. I didn't think they would fight at this age. I really thought it happened when they were older and the hormones really kicked in. I thought they were still babies so they wanted company. Bleh. :expressionless
