Coloured rabbit with red eyes

Hello!!

I’ve just been reading about colouring in rabbits, and have read that the only rabbits that have red eyes are REW and himalayans. I’ve also read about Lutino rabbits, and that they also have red eyes, but a coloured coat.

I was googling all this as I have a bunny, who has purple eyes, but has sable/smoke pearl colouring. However, am I correct in saying he isn’t a true smoke pearl because of the red eyes??

I know shaded colours have a ruby glow, but his eyes are literally red/purple

Its impossible for any rabbit that isnt rew, himalayan or lutino to have truly red eyes"
However, shaded rabbits can have a red cast to their eyes. Rabbits with the chocolate gene can also have a red cast to their eyes. If you can combine them the eyes look especially red
