Clipping nails

Hi! My bunny's nails are super long. I am wondering how I can safely trim them without scaring him too much. TIA

Hi there! Depending on your buns demeanor, you can do it with or without using the "bunny burrito" method. If your bun dislikes being handled, it may be required. You can use regular people nail trimmers or the cat/dog ones, called a guiattine (sp) I believe. You only want to take off the tips. You'll want to take notice of where the quick is located before cutting and stay aways above that. If a bunny burrito is required, just take a bath towel and wrap both sides around the buns tummy and fold the bottom up. You may also need to cover the eyes if you can tell the bun isn't cooperating.

thanks, he is really very sweet. his nails are seriously like an inch long! poor guy I cant believe they let them get so long!!
