I have 2 bunnies (Holland Lop & Netherland Dwarf) housed in a NIC home. I'm thinking about purchasing a wet/dry vac to make clean-up easier. My vacuum is not up to the task of sucking up the hay, pellets, and bits of carefresh litter.

I am asking for your expertise here. I'd like to get a small shop vac (4 gallons or less), but wanted to see if anyone is using a Small shop vac for this purpose and if you are happy with it. Why small? I live in a 1 bedroom apartment with limited storage space and cant store a large vac. I hope the little shop vacs have enough power.

Let me know what you think. :)

I've used a large shop vac for cleanup which works really well but I've never tried/owned a small one.

I use a small shop vac and it works fine. It can take a long time if there is a lot of hay spread around. I usually use it once per week unless she has uncscheduled parties on school nights.

Great! Thank you all for your advice.

Nancy - what brand do you have? I'm having trouble finding a small wet/dry vac with a larger hose diameter.

Thanks!

I use the Dyson hand held vacuum to clean Bebe's cage daily. But I sweep up the large bits of hay first.

For the rabbit run, I have a large shop vac. Again I would clean up the hay before vacuuming.

I have a 1.75 gallon Craftsman it does have a small hose but works fine I just sweep first if there is a lot. It also blows air out the back but so does my husbands very large shop vac. Plus is it stores nicely in a a small closet.

I have a 2gallon, 4 gallon, and 12 gallon shop vac. I bough the 2gallon, realized it was too small, bought the 5 gallon, it was perfect, and the 12 gallon was on sale on black friday and bought that too. IMO they are perfect for quick cleanups. Didn't think anyone elsed used them.
