Ok so now that Twigs is fixed andis no longer spraying everywhere I would like to clean my carpets. BUT I'm wanting to get him a wife here in the next few weeks. So should I wait till after they are bonded? Also Idid cleaned my carpets right after we got him, but that was summer and the floors were dry by that night. Now it's cooler out and it might take a day or so until they are completely dry. Is this a problem? Will I need to have him locked up until they are dry?

I would lock him up while it drys so he doesn't get the solution on his paws. You might want to wait until after the wife moves in and settles before cleaning. It can trigger a rash of territory marking that would be super annoying on freshly cleaned carpets.

Totally agree with brandy! Wait til after the wifey gets here :)

cleaning prior to a wife may make it more of a neutral playing field. I think there are arguments either way.

We always used to set up fans when we had ours done, but with the company we started using the carpets were dry in an hour even in cooler weather. No carpet anymore here

Are you hiring a company to do it, or do you have a bissel or something and are doing it yourself? If you do it yourself I dont see the harm in doing it prior to the wife and again after.

That's what I was thinking. Becuase right now it competly smells like him. And I'll be borrowing a Hoover from a friend of mine.

I would just do it before and after.

As for the solution, Petsmart carrys pretty much a full line of bissel carpet cleaning products for use in carpet cleaners. So they are totally pet safe. That would probably be your best option on what to use, and it would make it safe to let Twigs out while the carpet is still damp.
