It is a vividdemonstration of thetheory that the human brain reads ONLY the first and last letters of aword, when identifying that word. See how you do reading this:

Cna yuo raed tihs? Olny 55% of plepoe can

What's neat too is the fact that not only can I read it, but I can read it just as quickly as I would normal text.

And what's even funnier: Thatparagraph doesn't bother me atall, but if I see a speling eror...whoops... spelling error... in asentence, it drives me nuts! :bunnydance:

Yeah - exactly the same as what bassetluv said - I can read it just as fast as normal text. Pretty neat.

Yes, unfortunately I've had too much experience with that sort of writing on this forum!

That's actually more understandable than some I've read. Iguess certain people aren't using the first and last letter rule.

Its amazing how you can read it just like normal text.

And Im with Naturestee, after reading things like "plz hlep my rbbt" we're probably better conditioned :)

LOL!! I thought the same thing when I read it...

Yeah. I can read it. It needs spelchek really bad :cool::cool: (yes, I know it should be spellcheck).

Oh man...do you know on another forum we're on, we have a three strikerule against teen speak? If they can'tformand postsentenceslike normal, semi-intelligentpeople,they're out!

Oooh - I like that rule.....especially since I think we have a spell check function on here I think.

We need the words in context and proper syntax to derive some meaning from the text.
Each word written individually would make very little sense to us - iproamtnt (important, for example)

My son in 2nd grade is proficient in his level of reading, but I doubthe could make any sense out of the paragraph, even thoughhewould be able to read it if the words were correctlyspelled.

I think the only reason I could read it, isbecause that's what my notes end up looking like half thetime... I get so tired during some lectures and stop payingattention to my writing and it comes out all gobbly de ****...

I've seen that before too.

I agree that with out context it's pretty much impossible to understand.

I can read that without a problem.:)

But then, the way my friends and I text each other, hehe we leave outmostvowels! lol So that sentence would be "Bt thn da wy myfrnds + I txt ech othr lol we lv ot mst vwls" :blushan:

But I can't stand bad spelling on the forum, I don't mind when it'sjust liketwo letters in the wrong order or something, butwhen people spell words totally wrong, like a few days ago I saw"nabborr" or something like that...I assumed it meant "neighbour".:?

I always use spell check on here, brings up a preview too.:D

I'm always very forgiving of badenglish/spelling skills because I truly believe we all have ourstrengths and weaknesses, and while people with writing skills tend togravitate to written forums like this one, that shouldn't make somebodywho does better, say, with math or sciences, any lesswelcome. (I can just imagine what my skills wouldbe like if I had to hang out in a numbers forum!)

I also often remind my fellow journalists that if thealmightypower ever looks down upon the earth and decides to clean house, thesimple farmer in the field willbe a lot safer than the popculture critic for the New York Times. ;)

That said, if the trend with kids is not to learn thisskillbecause they're lazy, future worldcommunicationisdoomed!

Some times I spell check two or three times before I post a message.

In other posts, if the reading gets toohard or tidiest (sp) :D, I endup skipping it.

Rainbows! :?
