Can bunnies catch human illness?

I know when someone is sick they shouldn't handle their chinchillas because they have really tender immune systems. Can Georgie or other bunnies pick up human illnesses as well? I think I have bronchitis or an upper respiratory infection or something (just a really nasty cough), and I don't want to risk passing it off to him. What do you think?

Yep, Zoonoses - diseases transmissable between human and animal. But there are very few that pass between rabbit and us - it is soooooo highly unlikely though but if you are curious here are some that can pass from rabbit to human;

I have never heard of any passing from human to rabbit.... I will check my little book and come back later but if it were meI wouldn't be concerned.
