I'd wait Michaela - they got me 2 boxes but the others never appeared and now they are saying they can't get them. I've had a real nightmare with them but I'm a stubborn old mule and have demanded that they supply me these new ones at the same price as I paid for the old ones.

The order plu will change - but once we know they are in store - I'll get it for you!

I told Slemcka about the huge demand in the UK for these grids and the guy seemed to have heard about it before. I've also told B&Q so if you guys really want them supplied to your area - email head office and let them know the demand is there!

As soon as I hear more from them - I'll update you all unless someone else sees them in uk stores earlier which is more than likely ;)

OK. I had an e-mail back from B&Q and they said that they can't deal with my request unless I give them product ID codes, etc. So how am I supposed to do that if they don't actually stock the product anymore??

As I only need a one-storey set up I have ordered this instead but I would like the Slemcka cubes for Starsky & Lacey although it's not essential;

Same playpen as here just cheaper:

Ok here is the details for the NEW item from Slemka (not available in b&q yet I don't think (I have not been back since last time so might be wrong) but keep at them to stock them!!)

Product No: 5015772198409

The Old product no was: 5015772193169

I imagine it's called the same thing but you could try contacting David Maxwell at Slemka to ask him: 01215650110

Hopefully if enough people in the UK push B&Q we can get these more easily available. The fact that they are guaranteed sales to guinea pig, rat, chinchilla and rabbit people to name but a few - should convince them to make this an always in stock item.

Good luck ladies ;)

Wow. It's so expensive! In Singapore it only costs $2sgd a grid that's 18cm x62cm or 39cm x 39xm. Comes invarious sizes and it's $2sgd each. I use cable tie to secure the grids. Cheap alternative..

I use dog fence at my room door to prevent them running out. Why don't you guys use this for their cage? You can secure them firmly and I believe it's much cheaper. Only costs $10sgd a fence on my side.

Hope this helps. :)

Went to B&Q today, they didn't have them, but we gave them the code and they made lots of phone calls etc, they were very helpful. :)Anyways, they said they can order them in for me, it's £22 for a box of ? grids. And they said it will take three weeks for them to come in (yeah right! :p)

Excellent news!!!
I'll get back onto the guy I am dealing with this week then and demand they get mine reordered asap. I'm glad I refused to take a refund on my old order now as they are double the price they were. Phew!

I think you get 23 grids in a box...

Just make sure and phone them in 3 weeks - do not wait for them to call you, or you'll have a nightmare like I did!

:D

Lucky you getting them for a tenner...lol. :pStill, £22 isn't so bad, would cost a lot more if I ordered them off Robert May. And you only get 17 in a box with them, Flashy told me it's a lot when you add on VAT, postage... 23 grids is good - I can make the cage I want with two boxes then. :)

Will deffo be making sure we keep at B&Q to get them, mum will be in Ballymena a lot over the next few weeks (Christmas shopping begins ;)) so I'll get her to check with them every time she's there.

:biggrin2:Exciting!

Yep - 2 boxes will make you a huge cage!
I needed 6 boxes between guinea pigs and rabbits - got 4 more to get, so you are still spending less than me ;)

Lets keep our fingers crossed we will both have our fabbo cages set up for christmas day eh?! xx

Yeah! Hopefully before! :D

I still have a problem though, I can't convince my parent to allow Ebony to move inside, I really cannot understand why they won't agree. She is so lonely out there, Maddie is already in and there are no major problems with that, Maddie and Ebony have been getting on great and I know they would bond..it's so frustrating. I've even offered to make the compromise of having them both inside in winter and both out in summer but still no. :(

Probably ain't helping that I keep asking for guinea piggies too...:pI'd have them on top of Maddie's cage, in a 2x4 one level. :)

Formal response from B&Q today:

'Thank you for emailing B&Q.

The Slemcka 6-cube mesh storage units are a current stock line and therefore
should be available in our stores.

However, I have researched all of your local stores only to find that there are
none available at this present time. Also, I do not currently have any delivery
date as to when the item will be back in stock.

I also have the contact details of our suppliers, as they may have more
information on this particular product. Our suppliers are:

SLEMCKA (DMS) Ltd - 0121 565 0110

I do hope that they are able to assist you further.'

I'll keep any eye out!

Ooo yay! I'll try giving Nottingham a call tomorrow to see if they have any, do we have any idea of prices....we want to make a long thin-ish 2 level cage for Louis and Grace to share when they have been bonded...Grace is a pretty big bunny these days and she desperatly needs more cage room really. We did think about joining their two cages together and they would just have to hope over the divider bit in the middle where the two bases joined BUT I dont think Grace would like to share HER cage as she is very terortorial and I think a complete new set up is needed.
