Buttercup has a long and complicated history.
She originally belonged to a former member of the hopping club who got in a lot of trouble for how her rabbits were cared for. They were kept outside and allowed to roam the neigbourhood, often being found blocks away from their homes. Buttercup was kept with her mother Thumper and a Lionhead named Skittles.
One winter they decided to catch the three of them and keep them in a small hutch together, feeding them absurd amounts of fruit and dog food, as well as some hay, that lead to all three in the bunch getting extremely fat and unhealthy. One day the parents grew tired of the burden the rabbits placed on them and decided to post on Facebook about donating them to a local petting zoo. Instead, we went and picked them up, insisting on a better life for them rather then being mauled by children.
Thumper and Skittles were rehomed and Buttercup stayed with us, where she has gotten down to a healthy weight, is far more confident with herself and has been spayed. She is far happier and healthier now!
