right now in cocoa cage I have a piece of card board over half of the grate on the bottom of the cage so he has something nice to sit on that won't hurt his feet.

this is where the problem comes in no matter how offtenI change it he chews on it & makes a mess.

so I was wondering if there is a good type of wood that he could chew on but still have a nice place to sit as well with out making too too much of a mess

any Idears???

I'm using this(don't know what it's called) for their cage floor. It's plastic and can be bought at arts and crafts store, it's cheap, re-useable, come in various colours and various sizes. :biggrin2:When the cage is dirty I'll just sweep everything into the bottom tray of the cage as shown. :)

There's grooves/holes at each end of the plastic board. You can use eg. sillicon gel to seal it or leave it alone. It really depends if your bunny is able to bite it or not. I will suggest to seal the holes if the board is for the cage floor to prevent pee to seep through.

Hope this helps. :)

erm.. why don't you give him wood blocks? It's tough for him to bite on something that he's sitting on and you can easily throw it awayif it's dirty. So you intend to always buy such a big piece of wood for him to sit and chew on? Bigger piece of wood more mess? What happenes if he's out of wood? Risk getting sore hocks? Doesn't make sense? :?

must not be to hard for him cause I have gone through 1 hutch door already from him chewing whal he is sitting

a piece of wood would be a lot harder for him to chew on & threw than a pice of cardboard.

I know what I need I just want something that is safe

and as for chewing blocks he has the apple sticks which he does not touch he has the chew carrots blocks and like 3 other kinds of chew toys to chew on

but still he still chews on the cage door
