Bunny- Male or Female? I’m confused

Hello!
Yes, it’s me again. I think some of you might think I’m very crazy...
I’m not able to sex my bunny correctly. The guy I got her from told me it’s a female and I believed him. She is now almost 1 year old and doesn’t have testicles( I can’t see any at least).
She is not spayed yet( will be on 16th of June). She is trying to hump my arms constantly and yesterday, she managed to get near my hand while I was taking a nap... Well, after the show was over, I noticed my hand is bit wet. It was a clear mucus like fluid.
I checked her private parts again... well, I think it’s a penis. But... at this very moment she is building a nest, which means she has a false pregnancy. Am I missing something?

Male rabbits can retract their testicles, so even though you're looking under there and don't see anything, they can be pulled up. If you're seeing bare patches of skin on each side of the genitals, that can be a further indication of your bun being a male as that would be where the testicles are located. Some rabbits have abnormalities with their genitals and it can make them tricky to identify if there aren't clear signs of testicles there to verify for sure it's a male.

Though it's not as common, it's not unheard of for some male rabbits to exhibit nesting behavior. So nesting isn't a positive indicator of it being a female. You may just have to wait for the vet to positively identify what your bun is.

We adopted a rabbit from an ad placed in the Pennysaver by the local shelter--"Mixed Male Mini". Turns out she was really mixed. Fairly easy to tell if you follow the guide above.

Thank you. I’m waiting for a vet verdict because it’s really confusing at the moment. I love my bunny regardless of the gender. She has a bare patches of skin...I also started to notice a strong smell( well it’s quite stinky) when she get excited. Thank you for your help. It’s very helpful.

Thank you. Ok, so it’s a girl. Ruby was spayed yesterday. She is doing fine now. Didn’t have an appetite last night, but bounced back today. I have to say, she looked very miserable after the surgery and I have even felt guilty.

It's a big surgery for the girl rabbits. That first day after they come home can be quite difficult, making sure they are going to be ok. The guilt passes as they start getting back to normal, and especially when you see the positive changes of behavior that happen once the hormones fade. It sounded like you had quite the hormonal girl on your hands, so it will be good to have these hormonally driven behaviors out of the way now.
