Hello to everyone. I've been watching this forum for a very long time since in my country there are no rabbit experienced vets and you always provide so much important information for my bunny. Unfortunately today it was the time to finally join the forum too in order to ask your opinion about my bunny condition. The last 1 week i have noticed that my 5 year old lionhead bunny has a very small bald area with loss fur on her nose just above her nostril. The skin of the bald area is not irritated and it doesn't have any spots or scaly appearance. Also my bunny has no symptoms of anything she is very happy as usual eating pooping and playing normally. She is also has no itchiness on the bald area and she seems to give no attention to it. But no matter there are no symptoms I am in a lot of stress according her cause I have called the vet to tell her about the situation and she is away from the country so I cannot take her until 2 weeks from now. I have sent her a photo of my bunny's nose and she told me that she believes it might be ringworm and that it would be better to put a ketoconazole cream on it and check on how it goes until she will be able to see it. Is this serious ? I am extremely worry cause I love her so much and I dont want to loose her. I will upload a picture of the bald area and please i would appreciate your opinion. Sorry for the big post but I am in a lot of stress !!

Is it possible she scratched her nose on something rough, like a hard rug or toy or something else?

Thank you so much for your immediate reply. I thought the same thing. Yes I assume that it could be possible to have scratched her nose on the bars of her cage or on her toys during her playtime.

I wouldn't recommend putting anything on it for now. You don't want to make the problem even bigger, especially if it's just a scratch. Keep an eye on it and if it gets worse/doesn't improve, let us know.

Thank you very much for your fast reply. Do you believe it looks to be something serious or dangerous? I have already put on the bald spot the cream the vet told me for 3 days now. I will stop and keep you all updated of her condition.

If it appears to be getting better with the cream, you should continue with it. Hopefully, a more knowledgeable member on this topic can give you more information.

I have the exact same problem with one of my buns today??? What natural remedies can I use for him?

Hi Pishibunny! I saw your post when googling a bald spot on my bunny’s nose. I am concerned about the same thing with my female bunny’s nose? See attached pic! There is no irritation, it’s just bald and I don’t know why? She is a recent mother and I know that they pull their fur out for the nest but from her nose? I’ve never seen that before.

It would be best for you to start your own thread. It's less confusing for those looking at the thread and wanting to comment, and you are more likely to get a better response this way. I would recommend the 'Health and Wellness ' subforum.
