Hi! I have a 4-year old Holland lop who I noticed has been having a bit of diarrhea these past coupleof days. He's always been very good with relieving himself either in his cage (he is pretty much free-roam, the cage is only where he eats and goes to the bathroom) or outside when he is on grass or dirt, never on hard floor. However, last night I saw a couple of what looked like puddles of poop on the floor and today, he was sitting on the floor and when he moved away, I saw again, some liquid poop, which I'm not sure if it can be considered diarrhea.

I'm a bit concerned because, as I said, this is not what he usually does. However, he is acting totally normal, he's very active and eating and drinking well. I was thinking I just gave him a couple of treats a couple of hours ago, so maybe it was that which caused it?

Any help is appreciated, thank you! :)

Is he still having normal fecal balls?

Yep, it's mostly normal, just gets very liquid sometimes. He seems to be doing much better these past few days but we're still keeping him almost exclusively on hay and his regular pellets for some more days

If he still produces normal fecal balls, then he likely has cecal dysbiosis, usually from too many carbs/treats in the diet. Though if it continues with diet changes and/or you have concerns it might be something more serious, it's best to consult with your knowledgeable rabbit vet, as things like liver problems or intestinal parasites, can be a cause for mushy cecotropes as well. If it's not the cecotropes that are mushy, but there are no normal fecal balls or they're abnormal looking, then your rabbit could have bacterial enteritis and that needs prompt veterinary treatment.
