I found this on Bub's stomach this morning. Heis his normal boingy happy self and doesn't even flinch when I touchit. I have NO idea how it happened, unless he was pulling hair and wentoverboard, or scratched too hard. It's a little swollen around thespot, but not too hot, and the black part in the center seems to be scab. Help!

Ouch!! It looks painful. I don't have any advice.. I hope its just like you said. Hope it gets better soon..

OH! That looks sore! Just myopinion, I'd try a little neosporin/bacitracin on it over night and seehow it is in the morning. Cover the entire area, includingthe red, irritated skin. That should prevent infection andgive it a chance to heal. Poor Bub!

Ouch! If it seems alot worse tommorrow, I wouldtake Bub to the vet. Neosporin / Bacitracin is probably a good idea inthe interim. I hope it gets better. Please keep us posted.

My Poor Bubbers!!!!!! poorbaby , Rose wipe it downwith peroxide diluted then addthe neosporin , im not sure butit looks like theres one just a bit north of thatone starting also .Like Blue Giantssaid all the way around it keepus posted , It may be an infectedmosquito bite , it does happenonce in a while especially if hewas chewing on itto stop the itch.

Please pray for Bub. I'm going to try a new vet today. We are hoping it's only bots. The vet also thinks cancer is unlikely.

Oh, poor Bub!! Does it seemitchy? It doesn't really look like it, but it could possiblybe ringworm that he scratched badly. If you suspect that, watch out! It's very contagious to you and otheranimals. I doubt that's what it is, but I just thought Iwould throw it out there.

Thanks, gypsy. There is one starting north of that, but that particular spot on the pic is my finger. Whoops!

I doubt it too (thought of it and panicked because of Tank), but I asked the vet. She pretty much ruled that out. Whew.

Good luck!! Hope it turns out ok...I agree, getit cleaned out well and start with neosporin on it!! Cokry's whileordeal began with a sore about that size!

oh good grief JustBots"" you make it sound like no biggie ,I would be in near death Panic over Bots!!!!! what did they say to dofor him ?

Yes, it's a larvae. Yucky but not life threatening.:)

gypsy, we had them before, about 10 yrs. ago, and they look way worsethan they are. Bubber's fine, just mad at me. What I do is put stuff onthat draws the larvae out, then squeeze it until it comes out fully. Then keep the opening clean until it heals. Really, they'll befine. Izzy has two and Bub has two. The vet shaved them sothey are easier to treat. I'm just relieved it's not cancer.:D

Yeah, well, me too, but I'm just happy he won'tdie. I'm going to have a hard time with the "removing" part, but hey!all for my Bubber and Iz. That black patch scared me--it looked likecancer, but the vet said no big deal. She also said I must bekeepinga close eye on my critters, to have found the spots insuch an early stage.:)

Gypsy, if Tank's got any--I don't know!! It's the time of year wherethey are common, and she's been outside....but I can't touch her enoughto tell. Plus she's got bumps and bulges all over rightnow.:pAny swelling is probably mammary glands. Anyway, theydo come out on their own if worse comes to worst. I'll keep the besteye on her that I can.

Fenwick's clear, Pandemonium might have one tiny one. It's the time ofyear, and there's not much one can do. I've been keeping under thecages clean, but still!!
