So we went off the see some kittens that were advertised in the paper today, there was a ginger/white, a black (with white nose, feet) and two whites. We went on personality (all were adorable anyway!) and chose one of the little white ones:biggrin2:.

Not sure of the sex, I don't know how to tell the difference in cats :?So we may hold off on naming until we find out, or think of something that will suit either. :)Suggestions welcome, but nothing like Snowy, Snowflake etc. ;)

I got a few pictures, it's dark so I have no good lighting to work with, and the little monkey won't sit still! :pBut you get the idea. It's such a playful little thing, and very friendly! I got a video of it playing just waiting on it to upload.

Thanks! :biggrin2:

The video is taking too long to upload so I'll show you tomorrow, as well as more pictures (I have some of Madison I need to put up too).

Kitty is gorgeous! Lucky kitty to get a home with you. We had a white cat we named Siegfried after one of the vet's in the James Herriot stories. He was my best boy and passed away at age 17. We have a white girl named Echo. I'm sure you will find the perfect name. I could catnap that kitty in a minute!

Aww! Congrats! So cute! I love white kittens, they are so sweet! :) Kitties eyes are just STUNNIG!

Hmm.. what about Jeckle? I've always loved that name for a little boy kitty hehe.. Or Polar? Reminds me of a little polar bear hehe!

Aw, what an adorable little kittie :) She's lucky to have you.

I learnt somewhere that apparently cats with blue eyes are more likely to have hearing difficulties, so that might be something to be aware of when trying to get her attention or anything like that, just until you know for sure.

Adorable kitten!! -- sexing kittens is easier than rabbits lol -- if you turn it on its back little boys will have a little tiny winky near their bottoms and its tiny and furry so you may have to look lol - I remember looking for Charlies and it took me a minute to find it. If you can see nipples this isnt and indication of sex as both sexes have them

As for names....I like Marmaduke -- you could be ironic and call it Cole, Ebony, Jet, Sooty etc all those names normally associated with black cats. If not then there are always names like Muffin, cookie, buttons (we had a dog called buttons) - other than that there is always Disney characters, Lilo, Stitch, Pluto, there were lots of cats in Aristocats and a white girl cat called Marie, Figaro, Sulley, Mike, Woodie, Buzz, Belle, Sebastian, Oliver, tinkerbell, tiger-lilly, etc etc

Oh and all kittens have blue eyes to begin with and then they turn green, yellow etc. By 8 weeks they should have very little blue in them so if it does have blue still then it may be too young to be away from mum and so you will have to keep an eye on it and make sure it is eating and drinking properly etc

Just short, I have to get back to work in a minute.

Thanks everyone!:biggrin2: We're all in love already (except Maddie who is terrified).

Still haven't had a name picked, we can't decide, I think we're gonna have everyone put a name in a hat and pick one out lol. Ollie junior is a possibility Jess :p

His/her eyes aren't blue, they are a light green colour.:)It's just the flash.

I'll try again later to sex it, I haven't got a clue what to look for, lol! My aunt might be coming over to see it later anyway so she'll be able to tell us.

I'll definitely put up more pictures later when I've got time. :)

Purfect!

EEE! Baby kitty!

It's hard to find a name without the gender. I like more unusual names, like Freya, Vor, and Eir, Norse goddesses. Interesting Norse gods are Delling, Bragi, and Mani.

Fairy names would be great for a white kitty. I'm partial to Sprite for her, LOL! Kind of gender-neutral too.

Favorite characters, musicians, and historical people are good for names too.

Blue-eyed white cats have a have a higher incidence of deafness than other cats. But since your little one doesn't have blue eyes...

We've got an odd-eyed white kitty named Yum Yum (after a cat character in Lillian Jackson Braun's Cat Who mystery series). She is the guardian of the bunnies. She loves them and will snuggle with and groom them. Her brother who is a Siamese mix is appropriately named Koko (after the other cat hero in the books).

Names can be tough. Sometimes I've gone with literary names...other times with personality traits ...still other times just names I liked. Since you called him/her a "little monkey" in your earlier post you could go with Monkey. That's how our Rascal got her name...she was stealing food and I called her a Rascal...that was the end of days ofagonizing over a name.

With all that said....

CONGRATULATIONS MICHAELA ON YOUR NEW KITTY!

ADORABLE!!! :)

We have a litter of 6 kittens right now, they're... 7? weeks? We got them (and momma) when they were just a week old. We were just to foster... but we're keeping all but 2, which are going to my friend! haha ;)

If you want, I can take pictures of my boys and girls, in, well, that area, and send them your way?

Jessi
