Was it Brindlethat Danielle nipped her nail too short? Could she just be abit scared still?

It was Moo Shu that got her nailed clipped too short. She seems to beunaffected, however she is our shy/skittish one so it's a little hardto tell. :?

The only thing we did to Brindle was take Benji's blankie away from herthe other day (after she stole it from him :X). But she got a brand newpink one in it's place :p.

I just got off the phone with Danielle.

She got home from school and checked on Brindle first thing . She saidthat she still doesn't seem to be herself. She opened the cage door andinstead of hopping over, Brindle just laid all stretched out in hercage. She said it looked like she had picked at her food a little, butcouldn't tell for sure. She also said that her ears felt cold and thatshe sneezed (once). I might ask Danielle to take Brindle's temp (sheknows how and has done it before).

I'm going to see if I can get out a little early. If I need to take herto the vet we can walk-in until 5pm without an appointment.

That's a good idea. I'll stop at the farmers market on the way home and pick up some parsley.

When a bunnie gets an ear infection does they ear get warm? I canremember when my kids got ear infections their ears always got warm/hotto the touch.

And I'm figuring if she has any kind of an infection her body temp should be up, right?

My bunnies ears often go from very warm to cold, so I assume its normal.
Also Chernish has his moods too. Some days he'll just be so lazy andlie the whole day and some days he is crazily active and playing withall of his toys.

I'm just a worried bunniedaddy.

SHHHHHH.......I'm gonna sneak out an go home to check on my bunnie ***Mission Impossible theme music playing***

Jim,

Do you have any NutriCal in the house? You might give herabout an inch of that. You can put it on her forepaws andshe'll lick it off. Wouldn't go into alarm yet about aninfection, but yes, they can run a fever if there is aninfection. I'd ask Danielle to clean out her cage of all herstools, so that you can get an accurate idea of how her system isacting. I'd also measure her food so that you can tell ifshe's eating or not.

If she's eating well, drinking, pooping, not hunched up,notchattering her teeth in pain, and doesn't have atemperature, the vet might tell you to wait a day.Since she just seemed to start this this morning, you're certainly ontop of it. I know it must be killing you to not be there anddoing all of this investigation yourself.

Either way, the NutriCal can't hurt her. It is known to boosttheirimmune system, promote an appetite, help them to poop, and in case they do go off their feed, it provides the nutrients thatthey miss from their pellets.

Yeah, Bo's ears are cold or hot depending upon his activity and stuff.

When we find his ears cold, we will snuggle him :) When wedidn't have heat cause of the ice storm, we got him out and kept him ina blankie..... he loved that! His butt was cold then too!

Jim, you are such a sweet person! I just find it very nice tosee you and Buck on here and so concerned over the bunnies!

I hope Brindle is ok, she's such a pretty thing and I know how much you all love her.

Just getting to this post now. How is she doing,Jim? Hopefully, it's just an'off'day. To the other thing - I cleanPerry and Pernod's scent glands every month or so with a cotton bud andwater - keeps them clean and sweet :D:p- Jan

I've only just seen this post. How is Brindledoing? I hope she's ok today. Tarragon did that to me last week as youmight remember, not eating and hunched and shivering. He worried mesick and I had him straight to the vet but he was fine by evening. Ihope Brindle's the same and is now hopping happily around. I'm saying aprayer for her anyway.

Love :)

Greetings All!!

Brindle seems to be almost back to her bunnieself.

I'm not sure what the problem was.

I went home early. On my way I picked up some raisins and parsley fromthe farmers market (also saw that they now have dried cranberries, butdidn't but them yet). When I got home Brindle got up, but didn't comeover when I opened her cage. She had eaten some hay & pellets, and drank some water. I reached in to pet her and she turned her headaway. I offered her some parsley...she sniffed at it and turned awayagain seemingly uninterested so I put it in her food bowl and left theroom. I came back a few minutes later, it was gone and Brindle waslicking her chops. Needless to say all of the other buns had theirnoses pushed through their cages looking for theirparsley (which they promptly got).

I took Brindle out of her cage and let her run around. She respondedwonderfully. Hopping around, exploring, chinning. She even used thelitter box and left some extra presents for me around the room. After awhile she started tearing around and binkying. We played for a coupleof hours until she was worn out and finally flopped down in thelivingroom. I gave her a couple of raisins and put her back in hercage. She cleaned herself for a while and then settled down for thenight. Needless to say all of the other buns had their noses pushedthrough their cages againlooking for theirraisins (which they promptly got).

When I got up this morning she seemed to be back to Brindle.

Go figure. I'm just glad it wasn't anything serious.

Thanks everybody for the thoughts and prayers. I'm sure they gotthrough to her and she realized she had more people concerned about herthan she thought. A little bunnieluv can go a long way and do wonders.

Oh, I am so happy she's better! I was thinking of her all night!

Sometimes I think they feel lonely or something. Maybe thefact that the kids are back in school after the winter break? maybeshe's just now feeling it?

I'm glad she got some extra love and playtime... and the others did as well :)
