Leaf, the yummy smell and taste encourage buns to eat more. Providing they actually like the smell and taste.

Although both teas are good for settling down an upset stomach.

Aww Thanks again everyone! Bo is doing ok. He's still got some little dark and hard poos now. He's eating hay tho and I got some cranberry juice cocktail for his water. He wasn't real sure about it but he just had to get a few drinks! It was funny cause it hardly has any in it and he got some.... and had it on his face and licked it like it was a bit tart or something. Heidi didn't quite know what to think.

Bo was out playing and binkying all over, fluffing, pooing, and when he saw Heidi, he wanted to eat her! and lunged. She got away from Lexi and ran passed the Xpen... he was NOT happy LOL!

Then he relaxed and did some rolly flops :D

I am very happy with Pebbles poops since I started feeding her Flax seed. It has a nutty taste and high in fiber.
Both bunnies eat that first over their pellets.

Try giving them a teaspoon of Flax seed at meal time.

Iuse natural raw whole flaxseed that I bought in a package at a grocery store. (Bob's Red Mill Flaxseed, the one I have).

I don't remember who told me, Naturestee or Tinysmom, but other members have mentioned it too.

I use flax seed, as well as whole sunflower seeds and oats, for Fey (and Sprite) who has trouble maintaining weight and had developed a rough double-thick coat and seemed unable to molt. This mix helped a lot with getting her to molt and her fur is now much nicer. I haven't noticed any improvement in her poops, which are often wonky due to her dwarf hotot genes/megacolon. I give her 1/4 teaspoon every other day. She has a sensitive tummy and I don't want to overload her with treats. The other buns all get it as an occassional treat. Oberon didn't tolerate flax seed at first and would get excess cecals but now he's more used to it. But because of that he only gets the same amount as Fey, even though he's over twice her size.

Oh and Stan, I bought the same brand of flax seeds! It was easy to find in the grocery store, in the baking aisle.

Edit: Rolled oats are sometimes given for mild diarrhea and they do seem to help.

Thanks everyone! I'll get him some and start out slow with it. Clover would probably enjoy those too.
