Thinking about Bo and his poo problems and making sure he has plenty of hay and water - I got to thinking about how he has a water bottle and a bowl. Most of the time he will drink from his bowl. He recently got a new bottle. Which is just another change in his routine.

What I thought about is that just a couple of days ago, our water softner ran out of salt. We are on well water so it made it get very hard, taste and smell different. I got salt the next day and the softner ran that night so we had hard water for 2 days.

I bet anything that is why I noticed he wasn't drinking as much and why he got hard little bitty poos!

He drank a bowl out playing and most of his little bowl over night and he's pooing like a champ! :D

Yeah, that could definitely have been the problems. Rabbits can be very picky with their water. Whenever I go to shows, I always bring water from home so they don't get dehydrated by turning their noses up at the local water. Hard poo is usually a sign of dehydration.

So glad to hear he's back to normal!!

Some breeders mix a sports drink (electrolytes) in the water for their rabbits. It helps with hydration and covers up the taste of the water.

Hope the problem is solved, and Bo is back to his own feisty self. :p Also some wet foods like lettuce, watermelons, yogurt might help.

Do you think I'd miss those rex bunnies, PB?!?! LOL!

I've seen that green in their dishes and didn't know what it was.

Horses are finicky too, Clarzoo... One of the horses has to have her water taken with if she's going ANYPLACE. When they go away with her for a week or so, they have to carry gallons of water just for her.

It's also bad on some of them - like it gives them the poos.

Bo is definitely feeling better. He has been hopping and making up for lost poos in his Xpen and litterbox! I got kisses today for a tummy rub tho! :)

Thanks for confirming what I was thinking - it's good to find out these things before we start taking Heidi to shows.
