I have one bonded pair (Chloe and Edward) and am currently nursing a sick bunny (Max - 4yo dutch nethie cross) back to health for the welfare centre I volunteer at. Trouble is that I've ever so slightly fallen for him *oops* He is unneutered at the moment (he was going to get done whilst in for a dental op but the vet didn't think he was strong enough), both Chloe and Edward have been 'done'.

Just wondering if anyone has had any success with bonding a trio made up of 2 bucks and a doe? I've been reading around and it sounds like the bucks will just fight, but is this always the case?

My two are very laid back and bonded instantly. Max has been kept in a seperate room from them. However, both of them have had a sniff around his cage and can obviously smell him in the house, there has been no different behavioural differences.

I had a trio of two males and a female and it worked very nicely. Unfortunately, the female died about 4 months after the bond, but the two boys continued to live together for well over a year until one passed away.

It really depends on the rabbits' personalities. I have found that sex is not as important as just finding ones that get along and tolerate each other.

I would get the foster boy neutered once he is healthy, and then after he's healed up, you can try him out with your pair in a neutral territory. See how it goes, and you should have an idea of how easy it will be to bond him into your pair.

Here is a pic of my happy trio eating their veggies:

The girl (Wildfire) is in the middle and the two boys (Baxter the lop and Zeke the brown rex) are on the outside.

I am hoping to bond two boys relativley soon, it really has to do with personalities and not giving up. Both of them will be free roam, so territory hopefully won't be as big of an issue.

with a lot of time and a lot of pateince you could be able to do it...but some rabbits just wont put up with others, so you will have to be careful how you introduce them.

i am working on bonding 3 males together lol.

Aww yay! I'm glad it can be done with patience! We are definatly keeping him now and hopefully in a month or so he can be neutered. Then I can try him with the terrible two (Chloe and Edward!) and see how it goes!

Thanks for all the advice :)
