Almost a week ago we got a new bunny (Foo Foo). The place we bought her from could only tell us she is at least 8 weeks, and for sure a female.
The first few days of her being home went great. She is very friendly and happy to petted and loved on.
This morning I woke up, fed her as usual (hay, pellet, a small bit of blended herb) and then cleaned her cage. A few hours later I noticed she hasn’t eaten, pooped, or peed. So I got her out of her cage and she was just really chill. Wasn’t making noise, wasn’t sniffing the air as usual just found a corner and curled up, wouldn’t take food or treats from me. Then I noticed that she pooped but it was all stuck to her butt and mushy and had a sludge like pee. So I called my husband and told him we needed to get her into the vet. No emergency vets near us so we was gonna have to wait until morning. Only one that does emergency appointments after hours won’t accept new patients for emergency appointments. So we left our normal vet a voicemail and planned to call him in the morning for a appointment ASAP.
About a hour later she had a HUGE horrible smelling poop. Started eating again and started to perk up and wanted out of her cage. She has been happily running around playing since then.
We are definitely still calling the vet in the morning even though she is acting perfectly normal now.
But any idea on what was/is going on with her?
