My newest shelter bunny, Bella bit me really bad yesterday. She dug her teeth in and didn't want to let go! Note the extent of the bruising.

Yeeeouch!! That's some bite! I've had bruisy bites from our bunnies in the past but never that bad lol!

I'm guessing Bella is quite a character then lol!

Bella is a beautiful little castor mini-rex that looks just like my Scooter (and Bo!). She is an owner surrender (moving:tantrum:) and I think the poor girl is just scared. She is only aggressive when I take her out of her cage. When I go this week, I'm taking oven mitts! Once I place her in the x-pen for playtime, she is just so sweet.

I need to work on her cage aggression though. If she bites someone that reports it, she'll be put down.

:(That they would put her down if someone reports a bite - it doesn't mean is bad... look where she is and imagine what she's been through.

Anyway ouch is right! Hope you are O.K. It looks just like the bite I got from Minitature stallion tonight. ;)We match! Same place too!

I feel your pain...our Pumpkin is still pretty cage-aggressive, but her previous owners never let her out....and they had her for about 4 years!!!!! Those bruisy bites hurt A LOT!!! I've also had a bite that had to have "butterflies" put on it....I guess they're called steri-strips now. Hope you're feeling better!

:tears2:They gave her up because they were moving?!! :tears2:

Then I'd probably bite people too, I'd be a bit angry I think, not to mention terrified! And I really hope that she doesn't bite someone and they report it... that would be a terrible shame...

Give her a (tentative) nose rub from me! :)And I hope your arm is feeling a bit better today! I've had those bites on my chest actually, not that bad luckily, but my gosh they hurt a lot there!

My arm is really colorful today! I can't figure out why the bruise extends all the way down to my wrist.

Bella really is a sweet girl. Once I have her out of the cage and on the floor, all she wants to do is get her beautiful little nose petted. I need to work on the cage aggression though, so she stands a chance at getting adopted.

The good news Saturday was that I think I found GeeWiz a home! He's been at the shelter for 3 months, so I hope the adoption goes through. That will make 4 rabbit adoptions last week, two of which I can take credit for.
