I've been applying at several places for work - but the one job (besides the one at Art's work) that actually got me off my rear and into the Texas Workforce place to get an application in....called me to set up a job interview for next Wednesday at 11 am CST.

Of all the job descriptions I've read and applied for - this is the one I want the most. It would be about 2 miles from our house...

I just had to share...I am so excited!

I just got back from the job interview. Honestly - I have very mixed feelings.

I ROCKED.... I mean - the interview was AWESOME and I have never had an interview where I felt like I connected so well with the interviewers. It was amazing - they were taking notes not on my experience but on my insights on time management and the things I've learned from various books.

The downside is....I have mixed feelings. I want the job - I want it badly. But...the pay sucks. For the first 90 days it is $7.93 per hour - I'm not sure what it is after that. However - the job has full medical, dental and life insurance (for me) - along with a 75% tuition assistance plan for my Bachelor's degree (after I pass the classes they reimburse for it).

I like the fact they have 10 paid vacation days the first year (first five years) - plus 14 paid holidays and 15 sick days. I can't get over how many sick days they have though...

I really like the person who would be my boss - we really connected.

Anyway - I will update everyone later.

It sounds very tempting.. but $7.93/hour for the first 90 days isn't an awful lot. For someone my age, the majority of my paycheck goes to tuition, rent, bills, and bunny expenses. If I had a 75% reimbursement for tuition, I'd take the job because I could use that money to pay for my next classes instead of having it come out of paychecks.

I wound up not getting the job - which is a very good thing. I will share more in another thread.
