I was just wondering, seeing as how im used tomy rodents making cosy nests etc and the rabbits don't do that, are afew snuggly fleeces enough to sleep in? Or is there anything else Icould safely use?

I know a bed of hay would be cosy but I am allergic to hay so I preferto keep it in their hay rack these days and a couple of small handfulsaround the cage to minimise my throat irritation.

They seem to like their fleece but I was wondering if those cat beds are safe,

Ingestion of the nylon or foam filling can causea fatal intestinal blockage. A wooden box is much safer andbunn will enjoy it just as much. Paper fibers can be used tofill the box so bunn can nest :)

Thanks that was my hesitation to get one, because my boys are chewers :)

I won't get them a wooden nestbox just yet as their mites aren't gone yet :sigh

Still waging war on them lol

New cage, new toys, wooden toys thrown out, clipped using dogshearers and got their ivomec shots yesterday...

I even tried to brush them with a lice fine tooth comb :banghead

So when I conquer these buggers i'll be sure to ask my dad to build anice comfy nestbox for them :)

Cadbury has a fleece blanket that is spread onthe floor as her cage is in a pen on the kitchen floor because thekitchen floor/tiles can get cold up here in Rochester. I didn't wantthat little tail to freeze off!
Cadbury doesn't eat the fleece, just tugs and pulls it around thefloor, occasionally trying to dig in it. When she's nesting, she dragsthe fleece blanket into her Bungalow (little wooden house w/ a frontdoor) and arranges it as a nest.
As long as the bunnies aren't eating the fleece, fleece should be okay. You just have to watch in the beginning.

Foam can be dangerous though. Certain foams that aren't intended forpets can cause seizures if they eat it. On Emergency Vets on AnimalPlanet the other night, an entire litter of puppies chewed on foam thatwas in the mattress of a baby crib and they all seizured, went into acoma and died. I de-foamed the apartment that night!
