Were you able to save the last kit?
first time moms get stressed easy and sense our feelings as well. Usually we allow our does 2 tries, first timers sometimes the instincts aren't quite sharpened yet. If they fail the second time, they are removed from the herd and made pets.

Why are you letting the buck live with the does? Unless you specifically want to breed they should be separated.

Unfortunately the last one died.

When we got them they were all meant to be does until we found some dead babies. We then left them together so they could have a litter and didnt know they were ready to drop until too late. When we found them there were 2 litters and we weren't sure which was the mother but one seemed to be more protective than the other. So put the other out of the way. In hinesight we may have been better leaving both mothers with the litters as contrary to reports one litter were a few days older than the other and none of the ones which died had been harmed.

The ones which were older may have got to that stage because they were well hid in the hutch so hadnt been pestered. We are going to get the buck doctored but in the mean time if they have anymore litters we will try and leave them be.

After that there will be no more.

Thanks

Gary

Gazzapi, Are these rabbits purebred? It doesn't sound like you have much experience with breeding and these rabbits should be removed from each other immediately. I understand that you want babies that live but putting the mothers through that is not right. Please separate them right away, it is unlikely you will have babies that live since they don't seem to be good mothers.

Sorry to hear that Gary.

I suggest that you separate the buck from the does immediately until you can get him fixed. Don't leave them together or you'll wind up with another disaster just like this on your hands again.

So sorry to hear that you lost all of the babies.
There are a lot of good rabbit raising books out there, just not the new ones. If you can find a copy of Raising Rabbits by Ann Kanable that will help you out a lot. (Last copyright on this book was in the late 1970's)
