I know i have discussed a lot about what bunnies should eat after weaning. I live in Australia and have not found in my local area anywhere that stocks the good quality pellets, I found some protein enriched stuff at the pet shop and when I asked what the ingredients were, they had no idea and had no idea if bunnies could eat it, so I did not buy it. I have looked for the oxbow pellets and cannot find them. I have been able to find lucerne dried grass, which I think is the equivalent to alfalfa grass, correct me if I am wrong. Anyway, is it ok for the bunnies to eat this?? What do the need in addition to it. I have found a couple, 1 mainly, always getting out of the nest box, cheeky little thing it is, and in the food dish nibbling!!! They are only 16 days old. Is this normal?? Should I provide them with water, as the mothers water bottle is up way too high and I cannot get it lower. This little cheeky buny, I have watched it, and it will go up to the mother for a feed every chance it gets, it is so funny, I see it with its bum in the air trying to get under mum. Is this normal behaviour to want extra feeds and go after the mum??

This link is to the House Rabbit Society web site. It will give you an idea about what to feed when.

At 16 days old, they still need mom's milk although that won't stop them from tasting other available foods.

I hope other members from Australia can tell you what to buy locally for your rabbits. I don't have a clue.

Thankyou, What is wrong with lucerne??? I checked the stockist and there are none in m y area. I will try the other brand though, thanks
