We knew over the winter that we had a very large bun in our yard, because of the enormous footprints all over the place.

Last night, we found a very wee baby all by himself hopping around. Light brown with black rings around his eyes.

I'm thinking he's the baby of the rabbit from the winter.

Should we try to catch him and bring him in? Or leave him alone?

My main concern is that we have 4 large neighbourhood dogs that are always on the loose. They are never tied up.

Can you get a picture? Is he a wildspecies or a feral domestic rabbit? If you can get a picturewe could help id him. If he's wild, leave him alone.

I was just out there with him againtonight. The momma has been around for 2 years now (tracks in thesnow). So, I'm guessing he's wild. I just worry about the dogs aroundhere.

And he is so tiny. Not much bigger than a squirrel. But, his ears areup, eyes definitely open and he LOVES the dandylions in our yard.

I took Sunny out tonight, and I know she could smell him. Normally, Ican easily keep up with her (I hold her leash but let her go where shewants to go and just follow), while she eats her dandylions and smellsthe air and stuff...But tonight, she was racing around, all over wherewe saw the other bunny. He keeps a path, it seems, and there's no doubtshe was following it, very excitedy.

So, we should just leave him alone. Ok. I just hate the thought of something getting at him.

I'll try to get a pic tomorrow. He's been aroundat the same time every night. Hubby went up to him lastnight, but the bunny ran away when Paul got within 2 feet.

Wild rabbits stay very close to their warrenentrances. They have numerous ones so if you see baby bunny in adifferent spot you can bet there's an escape route nearby. Anyway, that's the best bunny can do about the dogs. If mommy bunny hassurvived at least two years,my bet isbaby bunny hasa good chance. Pics would be great though. Good luck!
