i am doing some research on azithromycin,,wouldn,t this be a good oral antibiotic for this problem...,cannot remember if it was you or randy which suggested this,,,better than baytril...sincerely james waller:wave::rose:

Azithromycin is Zithromax, that's a Randy thing. But it depends on the bacteria and what its prescribed for. Some antibiotics are good for 'snuffles', others do well with ear infections, and a different one again for abscesses. Yet another may be best for a urinary tract issue. (Again, depending on the strain of bacteria).

Zithromax is a 'big gun', I'd pull it out for an abscess or some other infection needing immediate action, but not as a first response for a runny eye. It's new and while there have been great results, the longterm and ultimate safety data isn't in yet.

And Baytril isn't so bad, its just getting resistance in some areas. Still good for the small stuff and in different areas.

Just my opinion, though.
