Is it safe to use the Arm and Hammer Cat LitterDeoterizor additive with bunny liter boxes? I'd be using it for mybunnies that never dig up their boxes or eat their litter. I would notmix it in, but just put it on the bottom of the pan.

I would err on the side of caution and say no,but you *should* be able to use regular baking soda. The catpan deoderizers have so much fragrance in them, I think it would bothertheir little nosies.

Ok, well if baking soda should be fine then I will try it.
If they start digging or acting weird towards their litter boxes, I will change it.
Thanks!

I'm not sure....this is really something I'm not sure about.

I know that it's okay to wash their cage with it, but was also instructed that the cage should be rinsed THOROUGHLY afterward.

I would say adding it shouldn't be done, but I'm really not sure.

Any particular reason you want to add it? Is the littersmelly? If so, what kind of litter are you using?Maybe changing types of litter would be a better solution...

Another thought...you can add some vanilla extract (either natural orimitation...both are fine) to your bun's water. Just add 1ccto 32oz water. This will cut down on the amount of ammonia inthe bun's urine, and thus cut down on odor.

Let me know...I'll help any way I can. :)

"Only one animal study was found to addressbaking soda's chronic toxicity: a three percent diet of baking soda fedto rabbits resulted in reduction of weight gain and may promote cancer.Baking soda, on the whole, is of comparatively low concern for acutepoisoning. The most significant concerns are for household poisoningsthrough ingestion. The use of baking soda as an antacid has causedincidents of stomach rupture when large doses are ingested."

I've only used baking soda when it was not in direct contact or access to the buns.
I used it under aspen shavings in the drop pans when I first had buns.
