Anyone use Benadryl?

I read that some have used Benadryl to help with the stuffiness in rabbits. Has anyone used it and is it safe? How much would you give, how often? Buster is only about 3 pounds. Right now i'm using the drops once a day.

I would use caution in using Benadryl. It has a stimulating effect in some rabbits and that can cause that already quickly beating heart to increase in the bump rate. A much safer alternative, and we use it here, is to increase the humidity in your rabbit's area by using a humidifier. And, we have found that cool mist works better than steam. None of my vets are keen on using this drug in rabbits. One of them has had some success in using Neo-Synephrine Children's spray.

I agree with Randy there. I have never used Benadryl in rabbits - only dogs with serious allergies.
