Okay, so while I absolutely adore my old DOS games that I grew up on, I am completely incompetent at running the DOS BOX emulator.

Don't ask why :p.. just have no skills :D.

Take a look at this: http://www.freegameempire.com!

It allows you to play good ol' Commander Keen, Captain Comic , Aladdin, LEMMINGS!, anything you want frombefore 1995 inside the web-browser! They have the games right there, just click and play :)

No more fiddling withDOS BOX yourself (which I swear was builtby geniuses, for geniuses)

All you have to do is download the emulator setup[just an internal dosbox version](no viruses, no alerts from my computer so far...)

I AM STOKED and WASTING all sorts of time :inlove:

Come play 2D sidescrollers with me :)All you kids who like the 80s, come live it up!

LEMMINGS?!?!?!?!?;FAJ;A'SDLKASDLKF

I love emulators. I have one for gameboy and playstation. I'm waiting for them to perfect the gamecube one.

Now I have another to add to my list. :highfive:

Jess, have you tried out VisualBoyAdvance for GBA roms?
I've also had a few copies of Steve's Snake's Fusion... pretty cool ;).. it's a very flexible program.

ON a side note, you guys can save any of the games you play on this site, as the save file goes directly to the game that is stored in your hard-drive...

Saved my butt on Keen 4 a few times last night :D

MASTER OF MAGIC!!! I got it from the cheap bin at Office Max when I was about 12 and the version we had must have had a bug or something because it had all these errors. Sometimes it would even make our "Compaq Presario" crash! Sometimes you'd get an AMAZING character to play with--like waaay too good. Thanks, I really needed something to distract me from my work (yeah right!)! At least I can't play them with co-workers watching.

Lemmings!!!!! I LOVE Lemmings!
I want to find the one game I used to play. I thought it was Myst but I can't remember the name. No images, but just like D&D all words that you typed in for function. it was a completely mentally stimulation game. It was on our old DOS system.
My brother's actually still trying to get them off the old 5 1/4 floppy disks onto CD so we can play them again
Children of the 80's??

Are you thinking of Zork? I used to LOOOOOVE Zork games! There were lots of non-Zork games put out by Infocom, too. I think I have an emulator on my pc that plays some of the Infocom games (Zork 1,2,3, Beyond Zork, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Spellbreaker, Sorcerer, Wishbringer, Plundered Hearts,.......)

I used to have all of the Infocom games, then a while back I re-formatted my computer and stupidly didn't back them up. By then, some of the games had been taken off the internet, but I was able to get many of them back again.

Gosh, I just love those "interactive fiction" games. I somehow managed to solve Beyond Zork without hints!
I wish there was a way I could play them on my iPhone, that would be the awesomest thing EVER. I would pay much money for that.

After a little bit of digging online, I just found most of the Infocom IF games available for download.

And an iPhone app that translates IF games, so I can play them on the go! It has built-in ftp, so I can even transfer the games I just downloaded onto my phone, and play them anywhere.
