I've had my bunny for about 2 months now. He was about 8 weeks when I got him (or her - I'm still not sure). I would like him to eventually have free run of the house, and he has comea long way. I started out with a litter box ina cage in the kitchen, and gradually gavehim moretime outside out the cage, but limited to the kitchen only. He now has free run of the kitchen. Once he started only using the litter box in the kitchen I gave him supervised timein the rest of the house. He decided he liked pottying in the bathroomfloor, so I got another litter box to put in there. He used it regularly, until I cleaned it and put all new fresh litter in it. (Now I leave a litte used litter in it when I clean it.)

The problem nowis that as soon as the gate opens to let him out of the kitchen he makes a bee line for the bathroom and poops all over the floor. I could see if it were a few pills to mark his territory, but it's not. Healso only pees in the bathroom litter boxabout half the time. The rest of the time it's in the same spot about a foot from the litter box. I've cleaned with regular floor cleaners, bleach, vinegar, and dish soap to no avail. I've tried catching him in the act and putting him in the litter box, but he only likes to be picked up on his terms. If he thinks you're going to grab him he hightails it. So what should I try next? Am I doing something wrong? I'm willing to try just about anything!

Thanks for the responses. I'll try moving the litter box and see how that goes. It's almost like he's just being a rebel.. I've got his first visit with the vet scheduled for next week.
