LOL Katie. No, but she sure went BIG. Now imagine me, strolling into the barn to check on her, and seeing nothing but hair all through her cage (and not her, immediately, because she was decorating). That's why I instantly thought, "OMG! Something shredded my rabbit!). lol

No wonder she didn't use the nest box, because there's no way she could have built that big of a nest AND fit herself in. LOL She used a LOT of hair, and an entire flake of hay in the building of that mansion.

LOL Brandy! I'm glad now she didn't plan ahead, or she could have gone much bigger. LOL

Alma, I can't wait, either! My oldest twin son was like, "Ewwww...they're gross." Then I told him I sold 2 already, and he was like, "Hmmm...they're not as gross as I thought." haha

Wow, what a nest. I guess she wanted to make sure being a first time mom. Good for her.

Thanks for the pic. Can see a few. Can't wait to see them in about two weeks. When their eyes start to open.

Congratulations to both of you. Clueless? Nah don't think that of you. Heck you put a baby bunny in your bra to keep it warm. Sorry don't see clueless there.

Sounds like you are both doing good for your first litter.

K :)

Congrats on the litter. I usually remove the nest box at 3 weeks, by that point it is a bacteria breeding ground. By 3 weeks they should be moving around fine and look like little rabbits instead of helpless naked rats. (Sorry of all my babies I have to say my French Lops started out the ugliest, they are sooo wrinkly.)

Oh yeah, eyes open at 10 to 12 days and if they don't let us know so we can help you. Ears open at 14 days, then they start to make noises and "talk" to each other.

Karen, the baby in the bra was because it was the only other place (other than my armpit, which is warmer) to put it. I knew it had to get warm, and get warm quick. Now to see if the Cals can top Adeline. She set the bar pretty high. :)

Thanks, Corely! Since she didn't use the nestbox, I had planned on just stripping everything out and putting new in. Until then I've just been cleaning the back right corner, where her "bathroom" is.

I don't think even my baby rats were that wrinkly! I can't wait until they start to get some hair, so I can see what color they end up being. There are a lot of pink ones, with no markings at all. I'm guessing that they could be anything from fawn to REWs?

I was told that 30x30 was large enough for French Lops. I thought it a bit small, but they usually get out for a few hours every day to run and investigate stuff. I have 30x36 cages, for when they leave the nest and are more mobile. Next time I'm going to just keep my pregnant ones in the larger cage for the entire time. Because she used up most of her space for that huge nest, she barely has any room to move around at all.

I marked on the calendar when their eyes should be opening. I'll definitely ask if they aren't doing it on their own. Heck, I'll probably have lots of questions between now and then. haha

Thanks so much!! You guys are the BEST! :)

Doing good, K. :) When I first pulled them all out, I thought, "Hmmm...they look a little thin." So while I was pondering this latest development, I covered them all back up. A few minutes later, Ad jumps in and starts feeding them. LOL I'm going to trust she knows what she's doing and just do spot checks.

Here's one of them. I have a couple that look like this...really shiny. No clue on color, and not even going to try guessing. haha

I am definitely enjoying watching them. The changes in just one day are pretty big, I think. There ears are already growing, and not stuck against their heads, and I swear they're getting fuzz. lol

I had planned to take pictures of all of them, after I cleaned her cage. But, while cleaning her cage, she was getting all upset...kept nosing at the shovel and then running over to her nest, then back again. I think she thought I was going to take her nest out, too. After I put new shavings in, and fresh hay, she sniffed around, then went and nursed them. So I let her do her thing, and figure I can do it tomorrow.

So glad Ad is doing so good for a first time Mom. Knowing she's feeding them and now only spot checks must make you feel so much better.

Did you say Dad is Lilac? Could be a lilac kit. I know it's tough right now to know. Can't wait to see the coloring come out. Hope you post pics.

Again, so glad for Grammy that her first time Mom is doing so well and all kits are healthy. Congratulations!

K :)
