So far, they're all alive. There is one runt, who I'll really check out tomorrow morning to make sure he/she is getting fed. But they are all snug in her nest. She's turning out to be a great mother. :)

From what I could tell, upon my quick body count, was: a few are dark brokens (either black or blue chin type, would be my guess) and the rest are all pink. They don't have dark marks on them, so maybe fawn/lynx/opals? Dad is a lilac chin, mom is a lynx.

Thanks, everyone, for all their help!

Congratulations Grammy! 10 little one! How's the one that spent some time in your Bra? Was that the runt? Hoping he/she is doing. Hope all of them are.

What a First Mom! Good for her that she's doing her job well. I read about all the fur she pulled.

Pics please when you feel they are ready!

K :)

Thanks guys!!

K, when I saw the amount of fur all through her cage, it looked like 4 rabbits were torn apart. LOL

No, the runt wasn't the one that was outside the nest. I think she had the one I found first, then was like, "Oh, crap, the nest" and had the rest there.

I'm going to snap a picture or two tomorrow morning, when I check to make sure they're all alive and have full bellies.

Rachel, they're French Lop babies. I was shocked at how big they were, and that she carried 10 of them.

On a sad note, my breeder friends had 9 litters born today, but lost 3 whole litters. :-( I can't even imagine losing that many.

Thanks, Rachel! Don't let anyone hear this but *starts whispering* they're sort of ugly. hahaha I'll snap a picture of them in their nest tomorrow. At least now I can sleep, because the next doe (a Cal) isn't due until the 3rd. *rubs tired eyes*

Congrats!!! Yay 10 little buggers. Dont worry they get cuter! :p After the fur comes of course. Can't wait to see what colors you get! Tans are boring in colors just black blue choco and lilac lol

So glad to hear she figured it out after the first one. So happy for both of you. Can't wait to see pics of the ugly babies. lol. IMO, no ugly babies. They just get cuter by the day to one day they are fuzzy! Can't wait to see what the pink ones turn out to be.

And truly said for your breeder friends and the loss of 3 whole litters. That truly must really devastating. My heartfelt condolences sent.

K :)

Thanks guys! I am so thrilled with her...she's a wonderful mom. I checked this morning, and we had full bellies (to my VERY untrained eye) and all 10 still there. :)

Cruddy picture, but you can see a couple. LOL

And here's her nest. It's HUGE! She has it really built up in the back, and the babies are down there pretty far. But all were warm and appeared well-fed. Adeline wasn't one of my favorite rabbits, but she's jumped to the top with her wonderful mothering abilities. :)

Oh the babies are so cute! I have to get my baby bunny fix from here since I will never be a grandma. That is an incredible nest! How wonderful that she has it all figured out, good momma!

I'm sorry for your friends losses. 9 litters all at once seems like a lot though. This is from one person? Do they know what happened? So sad to lose whole litters.

Thanks again, guys. :) I'm glad she knew what to do, because I'm clueless. LOL

Brandy, I don't think they know why they lost them. They have a LOT of different breeds, and a lot of each breed. And they do a lot of breeding, although I can't imagine having 9 litters in one day..with 5 more due during this week.

They take excellent care of their rabbits. They have the most amazing hutches. All solid wood floors, really big, covers for the winter where the screen is, huge doors (the entire width of the cage). Her husband (who makes them) is going to give my son the dimensions so we can make some for here. The only difference is I want to be able to stack them 3 high (so no slanting roof). The only thing that worries me about the wood is that it'll be next to impossible to disinfect everything regularly. Plus they'll probably chomp the wood.

For them to lose so many, at one time, really has me paranoid. I was lucky with Adeline, but I know there are going to be times when I lose babies. Heck, I could still lose a few from Ad's litter. :-(
