Ham is a great little (well not that little) Mini Lop with some social issues, ie he would rather spend time with the cat then us... And we spoke with our vet and they think he might be happier with another bunny. We don't allow that much time with the cat, due to safety, and he doesn't seem to see us as more then a food source and a poop cleaner. We don't want him to be alonely. Has anyone else maybe bonded a bunny who doesn't seem to care about his people with another bunny? Also, Rescue is our very choice, but our local shelter doesn't do meet and greets for bunnies, so how would we work that out? :expressionless

Out of curiosity, what makes you think Ham (cute name) doesn't like human company and sees you guys just a food dispenser and poop cleaner? Also, what makes you think he's lonely and what did the Vet exactly say?

He is very comfortable around us, just not 'with' us. He seems very relaxed co-existing with us, just when it comes to any type of interaction is off limits in his book. The Vet said seeing another overly friendly bunny might bring him out more, kind of "oh their ok to that bunny...". We did adopt a very overly friendly social bunny from our shelter, and they are getting along great. Q is the new bunny and loves grooming Ham and Ham has come out a bit more to us... Fingers Crossed!

That's so encouraging! I'm glad that it's worked out well and your bun has a friend now :)

I just wanted to share the new girl in the house, Q...

Awwww! She looks like a total sweetheart :)

Heb, seems that I am very curious. Did you do the bunny date thing or have help picking out a rabbit for adoption?

We did a bunny date the shelter, but we spent a lot of time with Q before hand. We knew what we wanted for Ham, we had talked to several vets and the bunny lady at the shelter and all agreed that a very curious, friendly bunny would be best, but that was a submissive bunny when it came to other bunnies. Thankfully it's all working great!
