Gypsy, you are an absolutely wonderful andcaring woman. I am just about near tears reading about thepoor bunnies. I am so glad that they have found their way tosafety, to you.

Its people like you that makes the world more tolerable.

Gypsy, am definitely leaning moretowards them being non-dwarfed jerseys. French angoras weighmuch more than jersey woolys (not exactly sure at thismomentbut will look it up in the morning). Let meknow what they weigh tomorrow.

got weights on the new kids :

The Black Doe weighs 4.0 lbs

the Fawn Buck weighs 4.5 lbs

They actualy surprised me I didnt thinkthey weighed that much . UPdate on both ,Both are looking really good ,the Fawn buck withthe doublebite wound is healing nicely , it isnt asred nor tender to touch rightnow , which is a good sign, The little Black Doe ,looks none less for wear , she ishappily bouncing around the cage andbeing a begger, the poop , she likes themsweety treats she got last night . Ofcourse the nose and ear rubsare something to look forward tooalso lol.

Wow...they do weigh a lot. Here is some info.

French angoras- ideal weight is 7 1/2 lbs. to 10 1/2 lbs. I doubt they are French angoras.

American Fuzzy Lop - their ears don't lop.

Satin Angora - ideal weight is 6 1/2 to 9 1/2 lbs. Thesetypes would have a sheen to the coat. I don't see that.

Therefore, I think that they are either non-dwarfed Jersey Woolies or a cross of Jersey and something else.

Glad they are with you!!!!!

I first thoughtthe Buck was a lop of sorts, but upon further inspection of the earthats down , there appears to havebeen trauma to that ear, the cartiledgefeels gooshy ? ( for lackof better term ) TheEar with the Bite thruit , base of the ear is solidand well formed , went in and checked oneof the other lops for the gooshy feelingand they dont feelthe same , even lopped over ears have acertain amount of stiffness and firmfeeling to them , this ear doesnot have that feel .

I have to agree Sharon over sized Jerseysat this point , but no matterwhat they turn out to be , especially theBlack one, They will eitherstay with me or goto my daughters house.

Im thinking because ofthe hardtime these little babe's went thru assoon as possible to neuter the buck andIF the Doe kindlesand then weans I will have hersoayed as well . I think Her and BlackStar would make excellentcompanions after Spays .

So here in lays another question ,IF the black one is indeed pregnant , (which for her sake I hope not ) ,Isthe Wooley fur recessiveor dominent? If shewas caught by short coated Buck , will the babiesbe Wooled , semi wooled , orshort coated?

arg another question , Is shea black or some other colorwhere she has the pretty silverunder coat ? and isthe Fawn an actualFawn . oh good grief I so feel like abeginner !

:jumpforjoy: Yay! A friend for Black Star!

I'm really glad you're keeping these two, Gypsy!

The fawn looking one is actually a BlueTort. The black one is either a black or a seal.Really hard to tell because of the amount of stains from the sun on thehead. If the head is black and not a very dark brown then itis black. If it is dark brown (sepia) then it is aseal.

Thanks Sharon , notheres no real brown on her head just sun bleaching, even then its not really abrown but a yucky orangish brownish color. up real close to the fur onher head its really black until it hitsthe silvering .

Omigosh, what beauties! I hate hearing of anyanimal that has had to endure mistreatment, but it is such a relief toknow that they wound up in your care Gypsy...they are so fortunate, andtheir days of stress are now over. :)

I hope you can post more pics of them soon!

I am so glad you got these two sweethearts. I am also glad you are keeping them.

I was telling Dale about them last night and hestarted shaking hishead. Well two can play that game right? Right! Well I had to stop because Iwas giving myself a head ache. He said once the rabbit room is donethen I can get a few more.

I can't imagine a better home for them than yours.

Hugs to you for rescuing them and hug them too just beacause they are so precious.

Tina
