One day I had my bunny, Leo, out in apen in the back yard. Well, I locked the dogs up, but my dogbroke out of the chains I had him in. I was holding my other bunny,Gemini, when this happened. Well, my dog was chasing leo around the penand so I accidentaly dropped Gemini in the pen and started chasing thedog around. Since it took me a while to get the dog put away they wherein there for about 10 min. at the time I dont know what they weredoing... Which is why we do not know if Gemini is pregnant. Gemini is 6months old and Leo is 4 months old.

Gemini most likely isn't pregnant. unless they're in heat,in my experience, the doe will just scrunch up her rump, making it notpossible for breeding.

Rabbits do not have a heat cycle as dogs and cats do. They are morereceptive at certain times, but they are induced ovulators so the eggsare not released until they actually breed.

You are right, though, if they are not ready to breed, they simply won't!

bunnylover, I think what threw a couple of us was the fact you said "you could only hope" she was pregnant in the one thread.

That's not something to hope for. Like I told you in the FATthread, bunnies being too young can do real damage to them. The litter might be sickly or even die. She can have stuntedgrowth, etc. Also, mixed babies need homes and it's hard to find homesfor a lot of animals.

I didn't think you had intentionally bred them.
