We just got home from the vet. Meadow had her teeth trimmed. She tried to eat something and she had a bit of a panic. She kind of ran a bit with her tongue moving around and then used her feet to brush her cheeks. Settled right down after. We are waiting on the vet to call back. If you have any ideas please let me know. This is only our second teeth trim and I am not fimilair with behavior afterwards.

The teeth were different from the way they had been, so she was startled. I've been lucky so far & haven't needed this done, but maybe they should start out afterwards eating something relatively soft.

Vet Tech called and said that Meadow did not like being in the hospital (I am not surprised!) so they had to give her something to calm her down. They also said she had small abrasions on her gums. She is likely reacting to the small cuts in her mouth and still getting over the meds. They told me to make sure she has supper or to force feed her critical care before bed so that we know shes eaten today.

I still wouldn't mind to hear from others that have been through the trauma that is teeth trimming.

I haven't been through this with my bunnies, but I'll be praying for a speedy recovery for your little bunny.

Thank you so much!

We just went in to see about force feeding. My little wonder decided "no, mommy look... I can eat on my own!" She started eating softened pellets. Thank goodness force feeding is awful for all parties involved! I know I wont be sleeping again tonight but my little fuzzy darling is worth all the lost sleep!

It's common that bunnies will only want to eat soft food a few days after a tooth trim. She probably felt funny due to the procedure and the meds too.

We made the long treck back to the vet today to get more pain meds. I didn't like the idea of Meadow being in any kind of pain. She's eating what I hand feed to her and a small amount on her own. I would very much like to see a normal sized poop today. Not enough poop but still enough to know her body is still working.
I'm not sure who is stressed out more this bunny mom or the baby bunny?! She seems to be taking this all in stride! What a wonderful little girl I've got!

My teeth have lots of fillings, so I used to think that having teeth that grew wold have been nice, but now I know its downside.

How's your bunny doing? Hope all is well. Pain med worked and normal poop has appeared. And your stress level is down. Know what you mean about being a stressed out bunny mom when our babies are hurting.

Meadow has had normal poops all night! Doing the poppies dance right now! Pain meds helped :). Meadow greeted me early this morning with so many kisses!

Next time I won't leave the hospital without pain meds.
Thank you everyone for the caring words!!! Xoxo

So glad to hear. I've done that poopie dance myself. Amazing how those little poopie balls put bunny moms at ease.

Glad to hear Meadow is full of kisses this morning. Sounds like she had a good night rest as well.

K:)
