Well ive been putting a first aid kit together for Phinn, just for emergencies (since my vet is 2 min away) and bought 100% apple juice, in a baby food container. The only ingredients are apple juice and vitamin c.

Can it be used as an alternative to pedialyte? Since it doesnt have sugar?

The benifit of pedialyte is the electrolytes which I don't kow if apple juice is as great a source as. Another alternative is gatorade - which is designed as an electrolyte replacement (for athletes sweating a lot).

I'll look up the apple juice...

gatorade can be used in place of pedialyte, but i would worry about the sugar content in it.

i have been using non-flavored pedialyte. . .

i think that the apple juice won't work the same.

plus, apples still contain sugar (it is a natural sugar, but sugar none the less) so i would be worried about giving it to a sick bun that doesn't need sweets

The 100% apple juice still has alot of sugar in it and I would also

be worried about the laxative effect that it would have.

Yes I think in an emergency mixed with water it would be OK.

Just remember that it doesn't have electrolytes in it.

What it does is flavor the water in an attempt to get them to drink.
