    Welcome to the Rabbitry!

Hey guys so I have three rabbits that I have yet to formally welcome to my rabbitry and breeding program. I've had the doe for about eight months, the two bucks for about two weeks. Peggy-Sue Cashmere Lop Black Otter Doe Spike (Sporting the poodle cut for summer.) Cashmere Lop REW Buck...

Litter of kits and a very defensive mother...

I breed and show rabbits. I handle hour old kits without an issue and have yet to have a doe reject her kits. There are many misconceptions about this. Hold them or your kits will be skittish.

Litter of kits and a very defensive mother...

Its perfectly normal behaviour for a mother doe. Put one hand over her head and gently push her down if she tries attacking you this basically establishes your dominance and motherly control over her but regularly just give her a pat with on hand whilst you check for golf ball belly babies with...

Fly Strike on my diasbled bunny, is it time to let go?

Horse purple spray? Don't know if it's rabbit safe though. You can get ivermectin in liquid form for sheep you just water it down a lot. Horse ivermectin is paste (I have horses) and wouldn't be very useful for rabbits as you can't water it down, plus the Equimax ivermectin based wormer smells...

figured id show ya my horses :) image heavy

I rescued my six year old Standardbred bay Gelding about two months after the passing of my thirty-one year old Thoroughbred flea bitten grey mare. I miss her so much but Tony makes it better. He's an odd boy, everyone keeps saying he's more TB then STB but his brand begs to differ! Currently...

7 year old kid licks everything? Moms help

Definitely agree here, I did the same thing when I was little and I had a severe iron deficiency (still do get badly iron deficient now, I'm seventeen.) but I wouldn't completely rule out anything else if she's picky with food then she's probably not getting enough iron, try an iron supplement...

    Is my rabbit pregnant?

Take the buck out immediately, he will re breed her and that isn't a healthy thing for her. Keep them apart until one or both are desexed. Apart from that give her plenty of food and hay to nest in and spot clean the cage regularly after bubs arrive.

Found a very sick rabbit in the park

I'm glad he's improving. Keep it up! That's strange, I've never heard that would make things worse. I'll have to ask my vet.

Found a very sick rabbit in the park

I would be wiping down and cleaning it up with warm water. Don't bathe it just use a cloth. I doubt it's carrying anything that will kill your cats or dogs. That rabbit needs care, possibly antibiotics and those wounds need treating once they have been thoroughly cleaned. Might I have better...

    Help! Unknown illness!

I already know about gas, bloat, and ect. and her symtoms don't comply with bloat; at first I thought maybe stasis but it doesn't seem to fit that well. I exhibit and breed rabbits and have never had an issue like this occur in one of my rabbits. She was eating and drink. Although not much...

    Help! Unknown illness!

Hey guys, I haven't made a post in awhile as I have been overwhelmed with taking care of an eminciated horse I've rescued. Anyway I needed to know urgently if rabbits can have Stomach Calm as I have no infacol. It's too late to get a vet involved and I need it to relax the symptoms.

    EMERGENCY -Please Help

I'm one of those three legged rabbit owners and my Dwarf Lop buck adapted straight away, it took him a couple weeks to figure out he could thump still with only one back leg. He jumps higher then before and his quality of life hasn't gone anywhere. His surgery cost $350AU but my vet studied...

    Mother Rabbit and Hair Pulling...

Yes, that sounds about right. Absolutely nothing to worry about.

    Mother Rabbit and Hair Pulling...

Yes that's completely normal. Some does continue to until kits leave nest others stop after 48 hours and some don't pull much at all.

    Runt or Peanut

He's a runt. The skin rippling is dehydration. I've had kits like that. Just get mum bun and take it for separate nursing. Put baby underneath her and hold her still let the little guy nurse for five minutes. The fatter ones are just getting all the milk.
