Help! Our two "male" rabbits just had babies

I'm not fond of the Kaytee brands of food. The Fiesta mix has a lot of "puffs" and "seeds" that are high in sugar. (Sugar is not good for a healthy rabbits digestive processes.) Pet Store foods tend to sit in plastic bags on warehouse shelves for many months before being delivered to stores...

Help! Our two "male" rabbits just had babies

What are you feeding now? I prefer a plain alfalfa basedpellet, with 16% protein for the babies. A timothy based pellet is great for the mature bunnies. I'd try to avoid a pellet that is high in Corn. Edited to add: Feeding is a very individual thing. What works for me and my bunnies, may...

Help! Our two "male" rabbits just had babies

Generally, the Does are larger than the Bucks in Rabbits... so that's about right size wise! Yeah, a lot of people want to keep a lot of animals (They are such good Companions!) but forget the cost of individual care. (LOL! "LOVE" gets expensive!) :inlove:

Help! Our two "male" rabbits just had babies

Awwww... pretty baby! I'd guess it's about 7-8 days old. Eyes will open soon. Don't be surprised if you get some "up" ears and some "down" ears! And you may get a "helicopter ears"... kind of hovering in the middle! Perfect! You shouldn't adopt them out until they are 8 weeks of age. And yes...

    Flemish Giant

This was Star Gazer's first Best of Breed... over all colors! (A big deal for a Blue Flemish Giant). She eventually went on to win 4 BOB's!

    breeding hollands

I would definitely give her another chance. A few of my best mothers lost their first litter. Breed her back, (as Pam said, if she is good enough to be used in your AFL program). The weather is warming up and she should do better next time. Make sure you assess any babies with the AFL...

Help! Our two "male" rabbits just had babies

Some does take longer to mature, you're girl may not have been "ready" until now. If their eyes are opening, the babiesare about 10-12 days old. And yes, there is a very big chance she is pregnant again. TheDoesare most fertile immediately after kindling (giving birth). If the babies are 10...

    Young mother, cold kits, HELP!

Can you give us more information? How old are the babies? When were they born? Is the mother outside? Can you bring them inside? (they will be fine away from mom for at least 12 hours...) She may not nurse them for hours, How many did she have? What breed is the mom?

    Changes after Neutering

Thanks Alicia! He may just be different... not as well "endowed" as the others. As long as he is functioning normally (not peeing on himself... soiling his belly, etc.) and there is no sign of infection, he should be fine. If it's a very recent neuter, he could still just be sore.

    Do your intact rabbits spray?

Intact males can spray, but so can does. Most of my bucks do not spray... but I've had a few that "loved" me a little too much and felt that they had to "mark" me whenever I held them. Honestly, I find that puberty has a lot to do with it. As they mature, they usually stop. Sometimes...

    aggressive does ..bring aggressive babies?

Have patience with her. 4 months is young and I'd guess she is overwhelmed with the new hormones. Cage Protective behavior is normal in does (although some of them seem to take it to new levels!) and may indicate that she'll have good maternal (protective) instincts when she has a litter. I...

    Help-Rabbit molting

It's tough to keep a rabbit (and his fur) in top show condition all the time. They need time to shed out and grow a new coat. Ideally, they would do that when we have no shows on the schedule. But they rarely cooperate. And we have very little control over the moult. Some breeders use...

    Split Penis

See if you can get a couple of photos of the penis extended. Just because it curls when it's flaccid doesn't mean it's split. Could it be an injury?
